Bealtaine is Ireland’s national festival whichcelebrates the arts and creativity as we age. Thisyear the festival is celebrating its 30thanniversary. The festival is run by Age & Opportunity, theleading national development organisationworking to enable the best possible quality of lifefor us all as we age. Age & Opportunity Arts provides opportunities forolder people to be more creative more often.It helps create meaningful participation andrepresentation for all older people in cultural andcreative life while celebrating how our creativepotential can improve with age.
Offaly County Council, in collaboration with OffalyLibraries and Offaly Local Development Company,has just launched an Age-Friendly digital skillsprogramme using Acorn Tablets. The aim of this programme is to empower olderadults to confidently navigate the digital world byoffering tailored training sessions on how to usetablets for online communication, everyday tasks,and browsing.
