While we have faced more than our share of challenges, we are truly inspired by how JBBBS has come together to make a meaningful impact. In addition to continuing the essential work of our Mentorship and Friend 2 Friend (F2F) programs, our clinical team quickly pulled together an expressive arts program to support Israeli families in the Boston community in the weeks after October 7. In June, we also hosted an important program for teens and their families on how to deal with antisemitism in high school and college. This year has also armed the strength of our work. While we had always known how impactful the F2F program to be, we felt it important to engage a third-party research rm to objectively measure F2F’s ecacy.Through survey research, Lynch Research concluded that the F2F program delivers on its promise to improve well-being and provide deep and meaningful social connections for all Friends. The overwhelmingly positive survey ndings highlight the program’s direct impact on individuals involved as well as its eect on the broader community.Finally, it’s also been a year of change. We had the privilege of celebrating the work of our amazing former CEO, Jerey Savit at this year’s Big Bash, and now we welcome our new leader, Lauren Korn. We are in the nal stages of nishing our strategic plan, and we cannot wait to share our vision for the future with you in the weeks ahead. None of this would be possible without you, our donors. When our son first entered Friend 2 Friend (F2F), he was a young man on the autism spectrum who was withdrawn and partly non-verbal. Through F2F and the dedication of his amazing Friend, our son’s life has changed for the better. This program didn’t just provide him with a friend; it gave him a path to develop crucial life skills, which have greatly improved his school performance and quality of daily life. The program also has enhanced my life by providing me with support and creating pockets of time for me to take care of myself. Over the last year, JBBBS has changed the lives of hundreds of individuals through the power of one-to-one relationships. FIRST FRIEND 2 FRIEND (F2F) SUKKOT EVENTIn October, the F2F community came together to celebrate Sukkot, a Jewish Fall harvest festival. Attendees of all religious backgrounds mingled and enjoyed making edible sukkot, shaking the customary lulav (a palm branch) and etrog (a citron fruit) and joining in an art activity.CHANUKAH PARTIES JBBBS hosted the Bamel Family Chanukah Dance Party at Congregation Kehillath Israel in Brookline, where more than 150 Friend 2 Friend participants and volunteers danced, played games and enjoyed one another’s company. More than 70 Littles and Bigs also celebrated the holiday at the Silk Family Children’s Chanukah party at Legally Blonde The Musical at the Caulderwood Pavilion where matches enjoyed the show and Chanukah treats.JBBBS RECEIVES PLATINUM AWARDJBBBS was excited to receive the Big Broth-ers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) Platinum Award for program excellence in 2023. Every year, BBBS agencies are recognized by the na-tional oce for excellence in the organization’s signature 1-to-1 youth mentoring program. Out of more than 230 agencies across the country, JBBBS is one of 51 organizations to receive this top honor demonstrating remark-able achievement in retention and growth.A YEAR OF BIG IMPACTIn a year of many milestones, here are some highlights:

BIG BRUNCHMore than 150 people came together at JBBBS’ oces in Waltham to honor four JBBBS volunteers and their transformative matches. Christine Ngigi, David O’Neil, Marty Packer and Ann Trehub received the Chaverut Award. These four exemplify the word chaverut, which means friendship in Hebrew.RODMAN RIDE FOR KIDSDespite poor weather conditions, Team JBBBS had a phenomenal showing at this year’s Rodman Ride for Kids in Foxboro in September where 31 riders gathered to ride 25 or 50 miles with hundreds of others. Together, the riders raised more than $106,000 to support JBBBS’ programs.YOM SPORT More than 250 athletes and volunteers came together in June to take part in the 28th Yom Sport, a day for athletes with disabilities to participate in a variety of sporting and team building events. Athletes competed in golf putting, football throw, bocce and relay races. Participants left with many medals, a Yom Sport t-shirt and a framed photo of their team. NEW JBBBS CEO ANNOUNCED Following an extensive search process led by a committee of board members and community leaders, the Board voted unanimously to select Lauren Korn as JBBBB’s next Chief Executive Ocer, eective October 1. Lauren has held several positions at JBBBS over the past six years, most recently as Vice-President of Strategy & Philanthropy where she spearheaded all agency fundraising eorts and co-led the strategic planning process.

BIG BASHNearly 400 people celebrated Jerey Savit and the power of friendship on May 2nd at Artists for Humanity and raised over $500,000 at our BIG Bash for JBBBS and the hundreds of children, adults with disabilities and families we serve.
