Director’s Note It has been a pleasure directing this very talented cast of Barefoot in the Parkat NCT. I have previously directed this production at another theater but backin the 1990’s and it has been such a joy to revisit Barefoot at a different timein my life.Barefoot in the Park was originally performed on Broadway in 1963 with afollow-up successful film in 1967. I have decided to keep this work in theoriginal period that it was written by Neil Simon. It is important to recognizethat many of the characters do not fit the modern age that we live in now, butit does represent brilliantly how people lived their lives in and around the1960’s and it is my hope that you all find the humor in this funny play.I wanted to thank NCT for their warm welcome to me as a new director to thiswonderful community of talented people. A special thank you to mywonderful production team for helping guide me through how to direct atNCT, it is so appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this productionand am very grateful that you all have spent some time with us as we presentBarefoot in the Park.I greatly appreciate all my friends and family who support my theatricalpursuits and especially dedicate this production to my mom and my dearfriend Hal.Gratefully, Gregory MortonCast Corie – Kate ReddingPaul – Duncan FischleyMother – Shari Rosen-KellyVelasco – John BarkerTelephone Repairman – Harrison RothbaumDelivery Person – Will Conley Setting A one-room apartment on the top floor of an old brownstone onthe Upper East Side of New York City.
