Baler Fans Welcome to the 2016 Baler Football season The new season brings BIG changes to our Football Cheer and Marching Band programs All three programs are under new leadership After 22 successful seasons Coach Chris Cameron has stepped down as Head Football Coach Coach Cam and his staff have definitely left the program in better shape than when he arrived in 1994 Having been part of the Varsity Football staff for the last nine seasons as the Offensive Coordinator Bryan Smith was named Head Football Coach this past spring Coach Smith was born and raised in Hollister and was the starting quarterback for the Balers during the 91 and 92 seasons The 1992 Balers were one of the BEST football teams to wear the H bringing an MBL Championship back to Hollister I admire Coach Smith s work ethic passion for football and his sense of family and community The Balers are in GREAT hands under Coach Smith s leadership Coach Lauren Franco also a Baler Alum was named Head Cheer Coach in May and has had her girls working hard all summer Please follow and support our cheerleaders and show your Baler Spirit as loud as you can Mr Joey Fortino will lead the Scarlett Regiment Band onto the field at Andy Hardin Stadium for every home football game for our National Anthem and on the sidelines to provide musical entertainment as well as support cheer Friday nights at Andy Hardin Stadium are very special and we all should be thankful There aren t too many communities left in California where everybody supports the home town team the HAYBALERS the mighty HAYBALERS Thank you for coming out and supporting our students players and coaches who work so hard to make you and our entire community proud to be BALERS GO BALERS Tod Thatcher Athletic Director 3

The Haybaler offense will continue in the philosophy of punishing the defense at the point of attack Being a physical team up front will be our preaching point all year long Baler Alum Chris Evans along with Tom Sullivan will make sure the War Daddy s up front are ready for battle Seniors Blaize Solis Evan Weatherly Brothers Vincent and Frank Chavez Marcos Flores Ulysses Flores and junior Daniel Pasillas have the size and strength to dominate up front They will be clearing the way for All League and Golden Helmet award winner Hunter Nye 9 s Tenacious running style is a perfect fit for our running attack Senior s Albert Lopez Colby Noble Zack Alnas and Junior Matt Ramon will also play huge parts coming out of our backfield Returning starter Dante Tomasini will look to build on his 2nd team All League performance from last year Dante s knowledge of our blocking schemes and hands that catch everything thrown to him give him the tools to be the best Tight End in the league Gio Giannotta and Matthew Hernandez will anchor the other Tight End spot in our deepest offensive position Junior Adam Mendoza and Senior Isaac Regalado will be our deep threats at receiver Leading all these young men to battle will be Hunter Raquet at Quarterback Raquet s knowledge of our offense arm strength athleticism and desire to succeed will put the defense at a disadvantage New Head Coach and Baler Alum Bryan Smith will also coach Quarterbacks and receivers Baler Alum Todd Freitas will take over at Offensive Coordinator and Running Back Coach The Coaches on this staff will do all they can to prepare these young men for the Opportunity to Succeed not only on the field but also in life Enjoy the Game Go Balers 33

BALER DEFENSIVE OVERVIEW First off thank you to all who have put time money and effort into the 2016 Baler Football season This coming football season the defensive side of the football has big shoes to fill Our players have been working extremely hard this off season making strides every day The 2016 football season will test the Baler Defense each week The defensive coaching staff looks for big plays to be made out of our EIGHT returning starters from last season Our defensive front is anchored by Defensive End Michael Camacho coming off a 77 tackle season and 2 time Defensive Tackle starter Richard Justo At our Inside Linebacker position we look forward to seeing Colby Noble Ethan King and Eric Fernandez making plays Our Outside Linebackers have some huge shoes to fill as we see Tanner Okerson and Ely Sernas depart due to graduation This position is key in the defenses success and look to see plays made by Johnny Gonzalez DiMarco DelCurto and Anthony Delgado Our Defensive Backfield returns two of three starters and look for Isaac Regalado and Ishmael Medina to anchor that group We have the making of a very exciting defense and look forward to seeing them grow as a group Thank you for your continued support of the Baler Football Program and we will see you at our football games E S ED FEN Thanks Coach Lango and Defensive Staff 40
