OUR MISSION To advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families DEAR FRIENDS 2021 was a critical year It was a year of hardship struggle and worry for many in our community However because of your support and financial contributions B1C served as a beacon of hope by providing much needed relief to thousands of immigrants and their families across so many areas And for that we are grateful Also 2021 brought important milestones and changes We celebrated our 10th anniversary and continued to pivot to meet changing demands while staying true to our strategic mission B1C served as a trusted partner to the most vulnerable among us by quickly adapting core programs to remote and hybrid formats as needs changed and adding new ones ANKA BADURINA PhD Executive Director A few noteworthy highlights n In collaboration with partners a tremendous pandemic response brought more than 1 7 million in emergency relief funds to the immigrant community n We offered new improved educational enrichment programs to thousands of participants to develop autonomy and better paying jobs JOSE LUIS ZEPEDA Board Chair n We strengthened our Immigration Legal Services department with the addition of a Removal Defense practice to support low income residents in deportation proceedings This included responding to the crisis in Afghanistan by filing more than 40 humanitarian parole applications Together we provide hope emotional support and a helping hand to address unmet needs Since its inception B1C has served more than 13 100 immigrants from 112 countries and who speak 43 languages We strive to listen to their challenges and respond to their struggles We advocate with and for them so their voice is empowered This is lifechanging work and it would not be possible without all of you our devoted donors volunteers staff and partners You make all the difference for us and those we serve So as we begin our next decade we humbly ask for your support and partnership to keep us thriving and growing as we continue to fulfill our mission to advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families into our community Thank you 2021 Annual Report 3

A DECADE AT AGLANCE PRE LAUNCH Planning Research Prioritizing Driven by passion and determination the founders come together to understand immigrants needs in Stamford CT They conduct significant research with community partners including Grupo Quetzal and CRISOL We find a home at 75 Selleck Street and start building valuable partnerships 2010 2011 2012 LAUNCH Neighbors Link 75 Selleck Street Stamford 200 community members join the celebration Our earliest programs are all volunteer led focused on high priorities identified by immigrant community members during our planning phase Programs encompass flexible English language learning classes resume help a hiring site computer training and more 4 www B1C org

New Strategic Plan Steers Our Expansion We create our first strategic plan Significantly expanding our programs and partners in 2012 we serve almost 1 200 participants Among many firsts we launch free tax preparation services Health Fair for immigrants with Community Health Center and our annual breakfast 2013 Rapid Participant Growth Continues Measuring Programming Outcomes and Impact We launch satisfaction measures to evaluate our programs effectiveness The new Drive Only license program with the DMV is a game changer helping thousands of undocumented immigrants gain access to driver s licenses and improving public safety Key partners including the City of Stamford drive the development and growth of our programs 2014 1 000 new English language learners 24 increase in our participant base 30 growth in job placements through our Hiring Site 2015 Win the Neighborhood Builders Award Bank of America recognizes us with the prestigious Neighborhood Builders Award Anka Badurina our current Executive Director joins the team to develop and direct our skills development program Hundreds of community members come together to paint the joyous mural featured in our center Our programs serve more than 2 300 participants in 2015 2021 Annual Report 5

A DECADE AT AGLANCE Our affiliation with Neighbors Link comes to an end In 2018 we serve 3 387 We end our affiliation with Neighbors Link and prepare to launch as Building One Community We successfully expand to meet community needs launching certificate based skill building programs with multiple tracks Our new Parent Organizing Program POWER ensures that schools meet the needs of immigrants We also launch the annual Welcoming Week program In 2016 B1C supports 2 500 participants from 56 countries 2016 2017 Focus on Immigration Legal Services POWER and Family Nights We hire an expert immigration attorney to develop and direct our Immigration Legal Services We accelerate our parent organizing group POWER to empower parents to gain attention and support at the Stamford Public Schools We also strengthen our partnership with the Stamford Police Department In addition our famous Family Nights become a highlight for the entire community 6 www B1C org active program participants from 71 countries 2018 Launch Immigrant Community Needs Assessment CNA By understanding local needs and determining how to meet those needs through existing and new services B1C is strongly prepared to shape our future programming and strategic plans

We Serve Our 10 000th Participant Pivot with Purpose Thanks to the strength and generosity of our incredible community B1C nimbly pivots in response to the unexpected upheaval of COVID 19 We adapt our programs to support people online and create new emergency assistance programs Offering a range of crucial services that Educate Employ Empower and Engage immigrants we hit a key milestone of supporting more than 10 400 participants from 102 countries since we launched 2019 This is also the year we pass the Executive Director baton from Catalina Horak to Anka Badurina Ph D 2020 2021 2021 Racial Equity COVID 19 Relief Programs and Services Address a New Norm We exceed 1 7M in passthrough or directed aid since the beginning of the pandemic thanks to our donors and to partners like 4 CT the State Rental Relief Program and United Way of Western CT We successfully help vaccinate more than 1 800 community members 2021 Annual Report 7

2021 IMPACT NUMBERS MORE THAN A DECADE OF IMPACT B1C has served more than 13 100 immigrants who speak 43 languages and originate from 112 countries since 2011 COVID HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS 1 800 COVID vaccine shots administered through in house clinics in partnership with Community Health Center and the City of Stamford and through the No Barriers program in partnership with Stamford Health GROWING OUR OUTREACH IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES Provided services to more than 3 900 participants in 2021 More than 400 Immigration Legal Services cases 15 growth in clients 8 www B1C org VOLUNTEER SUPPORT 12K volunteer hours at B1C valued at 400K

FAMILY INDIVIDUAL SERVICES JOB PLACEMENTS B1C s Workforce Development participants earned 328K in wages thanks to our Hiring Site We saw an increase of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TRAINING 8 500 23 in participants that came to the Family Individual Services This included a 50 increase in attendance of our youth virtual Homework Club DEVELOPING ENGLISH LEARNERS 1 500 English sessions tutored by our English Language Learning ELL program volunteers hours of Information Technology IT coaching were provided to our participants 2021 Annual Report 9
