The theme of this year’s Retreat is Keep On Moving, and we have great things planned to keep our chapter moving forward. We could not do it all in one day, so the 2-day event will be our best retreat ever!With every gathering, we honor the history of our chapter, as well as the former leaders, upon whose shoulders we stand. We also honor our Pearl and Golden members. We will use information learned and shared during the Retreat to SOAR to greater heights of service and sisterhood. Special thanks are extended to the 2023 Chapter Retreat Committee, and also to the Membership, Reactivation, Mentoring, Logistics, Technology, Hostess, Protocol, and Sisterly Relations Committees. First An-BasileusRetreat ChairmanTable ofContentsMembers of Alpha Xi Omega Chapter,Alpha Xi Omega Chapter launched her first Retreat in 1996 under the administration of Former Basileus Golden Soror Mae Francis Saulter. Since the inception of this forward-thinking initiative, the event has benefitted hundreds of chapter members both professionally and personally. With that stated, I am immensely proud to serve as the First Anti-Basileus to celebrate the 27th anniversary of this event.The Chapter Retreat is a great opportunity to not only strengthen the bonds of sisterhood, but it is an opportunity to reflect on the success and growth of our premier chapter. It is a time to learn more about the history of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and Alpha Xi Omega Chapter. It is a time to pay homage to our founders and charter members. It also affords sorors the opportunity to expand their leadership potential. Above all, it affords sorors the opportunity to provide services to uplift the local community.I would like to thank all sorors for their participation and planning of this momentous event. The retreat would not have come to fruition without our audacious, knowledgeable, amazing president, Lachon Jacobs. Furthermore, outstanding leaders in the areas of Technology, Membership Experience, Uplift Our Local Community, Logistics, and Chapter Retreat Committees are ecstatic about the work that has been done to execute a retreat that showcases AKA International Initiatives. We appreciate the American Care Academy and other entities in the metroplex for partnering with us to prepare youth for back-to-school. Kudos to my sisters for a job well done!
