It was founded in 2014 by Angie Cartwright, awoman who experienced the loss of many of her loved ones. Its purpose is generallyto raise awareness of the different ways in which grief can manifest in our lives. Grief is a complex emotion thatmanifests in different ways fordifferent people. It is the naturalreaction to loss. It also celebrates women’s continuingefforts toward full equality, as the adoption of the19th amendment was the result of the Women’sSuffrage Movement , which started in 1848. Womenmarched, lobbied, lectured, practiced civildisobedience, and more to gain the right to vote.However, women of color were often excluded fromthe movement and kept from voting even after the19th Amendment was adopted.
