Autism Assessments FAQs Wilderwood s assessments are built on their specialization and research interest in autism in women as well as the LGBTQ and transgendered communities Autistic women and non binary people can present very differently from the stereotypes about autism that are mired in a medical model drawn on observations of boys and men Q What is the fee A Assessments are provided by a minimum 500 donation to Wilderwood a 501 c 3 nonprofit with programs created by and for autistic people Both Drs Evanko donate 100 of their time for the assessments and do not receive any monetary compensation Taking a sensitive and compassionate approach to the assessment process Wilderwood brings in multiple assessment instruments to provide a comprehensive and thoughtful assessment for autism As part of ongoing research Wilderwood s own Reflective Assessment instrument is currently incorporated into the process as part of a clinical trial Other assessment instruments used alongside the Reflective Assessment include SRS 2 Adult Autism Assessment Comprehensive written narrative from each prospective client Face to face or telehealth discussion Multiple pre assessment measures Screening for cognitive ability depression and anxiety Educational employment and medical history Statements and observations from partners parents and or colleagues ACIA clinical interview Assessment Team Q Is the assessment official A Yes Dr Mark Evanko B Sc D O Board Certified Cognitive Specialist New Mexico Medical License A 874 88 Q Do you take insurance A No and as a result there is no requirement for us to report any information to third parties about the assessment Clients can be assured the outcome is absolutely private Q Can the donation be paid by credit card A Yes There is a small additional fee levied by the third party agency that collects the donations Alternative forms of donation are cash check or money order Dr Rebecca Evanko Au B A M A Ph D M A CMHC in progress Board Certified Cognitive Specialist ACIA Certified Clinical Interviewer office wilderwoodequinetherapy org 505 459 9813 Q How far out are appointments A We are typically booked 8 12 weeks in advance but maintain a cancellation list Q How do I start the process A Go to wilderwoodequinetherapy org and click on the Autism Assessment link
