BOOKAPALOOZABookapalooza is a yearly event that celebrates the literary life of the Highlands, bringing writers, readers, publishers, and illustrators together with a trade show, guest author talk, children’s corner. Something for everyone! The 3rd annual, presented by Haliburton Reads and Writes, will be a book lover’s dream! The international best-selling author Linwood Barclay headlines this year’s Bookapalooza, July 13, 2024, at the Minden Community Center. BookapaloozaHaliburtonHighlands3ARTS COUNCIL SPONSORED PROGRAMS ART IN PUBLIC SPACES The ACHH provides opportunities for member artists to display their work in public venues and at cultural events throughout the County. This year, we returned to Winter Folk Camp and added The Link to our venues, which hosts rotating shows. Our show at the Haliburton Highlands Brewery will continue this year, at their new location in Carnarvon. Thanks to all the businesses and member supporters for making these shows possible.ARTISTS IN THE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY (AITSC) The AITSC is known for its community programming for students, youth and adults. We endeavour to bring together local artists who share their skills with people seeking an experiencein the arts. In 2024, we will be hosting sessions at the Haliburton Youth and Wellness Hub and in the fall, providing familieswith a series of workshops that bring children, parents and artists together for a creative time in literary and visual arts.
