DORMUNITAs students step into their new journeythrough college, most are forced to liveaway from home to be near theuniversity. Dormitory units are compactyet should be a thoughtfully designedspace that will serve as their personalsanctuary for the academic year. P R O J E C T B R I E FThis design fosters a sense of communitythrough its layout, while still providingstudents with their own personalizedhavens. Campus Apartment Complex DesignP R O P O S E D The apartment complex offers a balanced andrelaxed co-living experience, featuring 9 units across 5floors. Each unit accommodates four tenants, each witha private bedroom. Shared spaces include a living room,full kitchen, dining area, full bathroom, powder room,and storage room. The ground floor houses one unit, abike garage, and parcel lockers, while the top floorboasts a rooftop area. This setup provides a mix ofprivacy and community living. The structure is designedto receive an abundant amount of natural ventilationand sunlight to improve circulation throughout thebuilding.SUSTAINABILITY EFFICIENCYPRIVACY &SECURITYSENSE OFCOMMUNITYFor the exterior, part of the facade is of horizontal wooden slabs withenough space in between for air to penetrate through while protecting thestructure and windows from extreme weathers. Slabs that cover windowareas can be folded upwards to fully open. The remaining parts of thefacade is of perforated bricks to allow an abundant amount of sunlightand air to improve ventilation within the building, received in the hallwayareas of the apartment complex.
