We would also like to include the children who aren't in on that day by inviting you to send us a video of your best dance moves at home. This is the 29th April. Throughout April:

Bluebells

The Bluebells have had a fabulous March!! With the lovely weather we have been able to spend lots of time in the garden and longer walks. Some of us even made it to feed the fish!

The bluebells have loved the different events throughout March where we celebrated World Book Day, dressing up as our favourite book characters. Some of the children bought their books in with them which we shared with all the children, we had books from superheroes to various Julia Donaldson books. The children enjoyed different activities around books, along with making gruffalo crumble, adding the purple prickles to the gruffalo’s back and making a big hungry caterpillar!

The bluebells have also been learning about St Patrick’s Day and creating some lovely art around it. Using lots of green resources to make four leaf clovers.

The children have been thinking about what is healthy and having lots of conversations around this. They have shown a real interest in making healthy fruit smoothies and learning about good oral health and why it is important to brush our teeth, with different cleaning activities.

The children loved science week where we carried out a few science experiments. One of these being making a volcano on the field and watching it erupt. The children took turns to fill a volcano with liquids and powder and watched it fizz out the top! The children have also been dressing up as scientists and looking at the changes of objects when placed in certain waters.

Overall the children have had a great month and we can’t wait for the weather to start getting even nicer where we can learn all about Spring and the changes with plants and animals.

Love the Bluebells Team

Through out March, Lilies have had a very busy month. We enjoyed Daffodil painting and play dough to celebrate St David’s day.  Lilies have also enjoyed lots of walks in the rain and the sunshine.

We have been nature watching during the month for world wildlife day. During this we spotted pheasants, birds and even a deer too!

We celebrated world book day and everyone dressed up as their favourite books. We read lots of stories that day too.

Lilies explored some science experiments during British science week, as they watched volcanos erupt. They created these using bicarb and vinegar with paint for some colourful volcanoes.

Lilies enjoyed a Mother’s day stay and play too, as our mummy’s came in and played and had a lovely tea with us as well.

Lilies celebrated many more celebrations, such as British pie week where we made our own berry pie!

Lastly, we have celebrated Easter. For this we created Easter bonnets, made cornflake cakes and lots of activities surrounding Easter celebrations.

Next month, during April there are many celebrations in which we cannot wait to explore. That being, world Autism day in which we will be wearing blue and enjoying blue themed activities. There is also unicorn day, siblings day, National pet day, Earth day, St George’s day, Penguin day and International dance day. We have been exploring the environments around us this month too .. There has been trips to the park and also the horses field. Alongside the offsite trips, we have had lots of adventures to the field and created an obstacle course area to use.

Friendly reminders and upcoming events  Clothing:

Please can you make sure all clothing items are labelled with your child’s name or initials so we can make sure they are returned to the correct family at the end of each session.   Autumn/Winter:

As we slowly approach the colder weather, we ask that you start to plan ahead for your child's day at nursery. We will start to need wellies for our walks (if they are not already at nursery) and a thicker coat. Please make sure there are enough changes of clothes in your child's bag so we can change them when needed.
