POSITION YOUR EYE 6:56 PM April 5, 2019 כ“ב רדא ט ‘עשת“ט עירזת תשרפ  April 16– April 28 - Pesach break  April 29– regular classes resume When תערצ remains on a garment after following all the instructions of the ןהכ, he examines it one last time. If he determines that the עגנ has not altered in appearance וניע תא עגנה ךפה אל, he declares the garment אמט and it is burned. The םירה ישודיח wonders at the Torah’s use of the unusual expression וניע תא. With all other forms of תערצ, when describing an unchanged עגנ, the Torah employs a terminology of עגנה ההכ אל, the appearance was not diminished. He references a ארמג in ןיכרע that defines one of the seven causes of תערצ as ןיע תורצ, a tendency to only see the negative and always overlook the positive. The lesson the Torah is alluding to here, explains the ישודיחםירה, is that as long as the individual afflicted with תערצ has not reached the point where וניע תא עגנה ךפה, his negative attitude has not metamorphosed, his affliction will continue until he become a more positive person. In a similar vein, R’ Elya Lopian ל״צז in his classic sefer והילא בל writes that the words עגנ (affliction) and גנע (pleasure), are formed of the same letters, it’s just a question of where the letter ןיע is placed. A wise person, ושארב ויניע םכח, his eyes are ahead of him, before he acts or speaks, he thinks of the ramifications and decides accordingly. He, therefore, has a life where the ןיע has precedence. A life of גנע. A fool, however, first acts, and then meets the consequences. Such a life is only a עגנ. Our children are always watching us – and are specifically attentive to our reactions to challenging situations. Let us make sure that our ןיע is always positive, and correctly positioned! Have a תבש טוג! Rabbi Ochs The bulletin is sponsored by:  We know that our parents are busy preparing for the upcoming holiday of Pesach.
