Chair LetterScott PalermoA Skeetz ProductionPage 5ScottHello There,April Fools’ Day is not what it used to be. I remember as a kid--and well after when I should have beenconsidered an adult—investing much time and effort to put together elaborate pranks on family andfriends. From sending rattlesnake eggs to my little brother, to putting a rubber band around thekitchen sink sprayer, to completely foiling everything in a co-worker’s cubical, I miss all the fun wehad! Why is it that we don’t participate in such fantastic foolish acts as much any longer? Is it because I amold, because stuff like that is not sophisticated enough to be funny anymore or, maybe, it is the factthat we can now live, vicariously, through other pranksters on TikTok and Reels and don’t need to doso ourselves? I am tempted to offer a prize to the person that can post the best April Fools’ joke in thecomment section but I think that might get me in trouble so I will go on with my letter…I hope that everyone can make the luncheon on the 17th at Catering To You. It is my favorite month ofthe year and that is no joke. In April, we celebrate Education with a special presentation ofscholarships to five exceptional North County Seniors. Every year I am just amazed at the phenomenalstudents that come from the educational institutions in our area. As a graduate of the HazelwoodSchool District, myself, I am so proud to see the things these young people have accomplished, and itmakes me hopeful for our community in the future. You don’t want to miss it so register now!We have a special surprise for our winners this year. In addition to the scholarship, the students will befeatured on our digital billboard on N. Lindbergh at New Florissant Rd. Congratulations to all ourextraordinary students! There are still a few spots left if you would like to advertise your business on our billboard as well. Wehave more than 20 of the 30 available spaces filled and our members are ecstatic about the exposurethey receive from the opportunity. You, too, can have your organization’s name in lights for all of thetravelers stuck in traffic to see for as little of an investment as $425 for 12-weeks, or a full year for only$1250. Contact the Chamber office if you would like to take advantage of this great advertising value asit will almost certainly sell out soon. That is all for now, but we do have some things in the works that I can’t wait to announce in theupcoming months. Thanks for reading and all your awesome participation in all of the GNCC events! And please remember that it is April Fools’ Day so be careful opening any envelopes labelled“rattlesnake eggs” and check the sprayer at the kitchen sink for rubber bands before turning on thewater—or don’t and have some fun and…Keep it REAL,
