APPRECIATION NOT INFORMATION 7:04 PM April 12, 2019 ז ’עשת ןסינ“ט ערוצמ תשרפ לודגה תבש April 16– April 28 - Pesach break April 29– regular classes resume The ל״רהמ writes in his sefer ׳ה תורובג that the purpose of the הוצמ of םירצמ תאיצי רופיס is to publicize the miracles that occurred. Therefore, the Torah commands, ךנבל תדגהו we are directed to relate the story of Yetzias Mitzrayim to our children to insure the continuation of our mesorah. Our children know the story. They have learned and studied it. Why are we obligated to repeat it year after year? The answer is that the ultimate purpose of the mitzvah is not informational. It is to bring and lead us to offer האדוהו חבש to Hashem for all He has done and continues to do for us. Therefore, םימכח ונלכ וליפא,הרותה תא םיעדוי ונלכ םינובנ ונלכ, despite any level of wisdom we’ve attained, we’d still remain obligated םירצמ תאיציב רפסל. We need to retell the tale to achieve a new appreciation and insight into praising and thanking Hashem for His tremendous miracles. On the night of the seder we retell and relive and the story to the extent that we ourselves feel that we were redeemed. This explains why immediately before Hallel we pronounce השדח הריש וינפל רמאנו הקוללה we say a new song before Him. Hallel is not a new song. These words of Tehillim are thousands of years old. Yet we call it a השדח הריש, because for us it is a new song. A new song of thanksgiving - not for what took place in the past - but for the present redemption from Egypt that we are currently experiencing during our seder. Thank you to the Rebbeim and Moros for preparing the children with Divrei Torah and beautiful projects. Please enjoy and shep nachas from your children! Wishing all of you a חמשו רשכ גח, Have a תבש טוג!
