At the end of each session a showcase is held for families to come and watch. FALL SESSION SHOW—Madagascar—A Musical Adventure JR. Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hip Hip Hippo, and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound on stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. follows all your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. Participants will learn tap fundamentals, steps, and combinations as well as explore a variety of tap styles. Bring a friend and enjoy this timeless art that gets better with age. Each session runs for 9 weeks. BALLET BARRE Ballet Barre is designed to effectively strengthen, tone, and balance the entire body. We will focus on form and precision while performing small isometric movements as instructors emphasize basic alignment, foundation, and specific muscle actions. Each class includes several highly effective sequences of toning and resistance exercises while giving a full body workout. Each strength section of this workout is followed by a stretching section to create long lean muscles without bulk. These are challenging, low impact classes that require focus and precision for maximum results. Each session runs for 9 weeks. PARK PROJECTS NOW OPEN: • Lundgaard Park playground, pickleball courts, and basketball courts • Green Meadows Park playground • Peabody Park connecting path from stairs to repaved main walking path • Resurfaced Miracle League Field COMING THIS FALL: • New playground and drainage tiles at Highview Park • New trail in Lutz Park to include LED park lighting and shoreline reconstruction RESERVING A PARK PAVILION: The City of Appleton has 18 park pavilions available for the public to rent for various events, large and small. • Pavilions are available for rent from May 1stto September 30th,except for Appleton, Memorial Park and Jones Park Pavilions, which are available year-round. (Jones Park is only available for special events.) • Rentals are accepted 12 months in advance of the rental date on a first come, first serve basis. • Reservations can be made online* or in-person at City Hall 1stFloor Customer Service, 100 N Appleton Street (*Appleton Memorial Park and Jones Park are not available to book online.) • A reservation agreement must be completed, and appropriate fees paid in full, to confirm the reservation. • A facility information sheet is available for each site upon request. • Rentals for events with any of the following criteria may be considered a “special event” and may require additional fees and insurance considerations: • Public event; • Live band, music, or other amplified sound; • Concessions of any kind, including the sale of alcohol; • Tents larger than 10×20 square ft; • Mechanical rides or inflatables; • Any activity determined to exceed the normal & ordinary use of the park. SCHEIG CENTER The Scheig Center is located within Appleton Memorial Park and surrounded by the beautiful Scheig Center Gardens. This facility, as well as the gardens, are available for rent by the public year round. Rentals are available one year in advance and fill up quickly, so book your date now! The Scheig Center features a stunning cathedral ceiling with a natural look and feel through exposed wood beams and windows and doors overlooking the gardens. With a capacity of up to 75 people it is a great location to host events such as baby showers, bridal showers, graduation parties, holiday parties, and weddings!
