A0F When did you discover acting I actually started acting in middle school I I tried out for the school play Yard Sale in 7th or 8th grade A0F As a model what do you enjoy most As a model I think my favorite part is shooting beauty work and beauty campaigns I really market myself I remember auditioning for the main character but I was cast as a supporting character instead I was at as a beauty model because I love shooting makeup and hair products The best part is I can eat pizza on set and first disappointed when I was told I wasn t loud enough for the stage but that changed quickly when rehearsal not worry about bloating because it s all about the facet came about My teacher was taken back that even though I wasn t the loudest I could get into character pretty well After the show season was over I actually ended up winning an award for best characterization for playing Ms Crothers I A0F When did you know you were going to be good at the craft A0F When did you start modeling I started modeling almost 4 years ago in the summer of 2015 I shot my first campaign over a year later in the fall of 2016 for the Walgreen s beauty campaign I It took a lot of networking portfolio building and hard work to get to that point but it was so worth it I still have those photos and I treasure them ThePride was actually my first speaking role in a short film I was nervous on the first day of filming and I could tell some of the other cast members were nervous for me too The very first scene I had to shoot was a scene where I had to play absolutely heartbroken and devastated it was all in the face and the emotions Gabija in Edi Mehana s THE PRIDE After the first take I got a few high fives and cheers that I had managed to do it welll It felt totally awesome and I knew this was something I could roll with I A0F What is the most important to you as a performer As a performer I think authenticity is key Be true to yourself Don t take jobs that you don t feel will be authentic to you I ve turned down projects because I wasn t excited about them Do what makes you happy what gets you excited what you ll be proud to share I And remember it s okay to have boundaries A0F Who has been your biggest inspiration That s a difficult question because I feel like there are a lot of rags to riches stories out there There are a lot of people who have overcome so much There is a model singer who has a prosthetic leg who has been making waves and a model with vitiligo who has become big in the modeling industry Just a couple years ago they signed a size 22 model in the UK People who are different and are paving their own way into the industry have to be my biggest inspiration We are finally getting to a time where different is good A0F What are you working on Well I can t SB too much until it s been announced or released but this past March has been the busiest Gabija in Ezequiel Martinez s A GUNMAN S CURSE month of my career I I can say I shot some product work for bareMinerals in New York City and shot the new clothing campaign for the Hard Rock Cafe in Florida I I also shot for a major makeup brand in LA that I can t name but it will be coming out in stores in August so keep an eye out I I ve also been working on a couple short films and teasers that haven t come out that will hopefully be picked up or get into film festivals I A0F You ve got two films in the A0F Megafest Tell me about them The first film is called ThePride and is a very complex short film about a family affected by war I play the only daughter of a mute general who is struggling to accept the loss of one of his sons I don t want to give away too much but it deals withPTSD war family loss love religion and LGBTQ issues It is a wonderful film and I highly recommend for people to watch it when it comes out I The other film which is a feature film is A Gunman s Curse This movie tells the legend ofPistolero in the land of outlaws and is a fantasy western style film I play the witch Darling Hook who cursedPistolero who can not die This is a wild ride fun witty and intense I haven t seen the fully finished version yet just a draft but I can already tell you it s going to be awesome I

By Matt DeGennaro Here I am again asked by the powers that be to discus a creative topic In the distance the train rumbles across the night horns echoing off the mountains while the final jet lands at PDX sounding absolutely weird and totally mystifying Maybe just maybe I 11 go to a pyschic and have this analyzed Or have one of my ancestral spirits come down and reassure me that my gamble will pay off or my future girlfriend would stop giving it up to every passing fancy My topic Ladies and Gentlemen is how creativity can rescue us from a deep hole where there is no bottom and certainly no top New York City early any evening the ongoing foot traffic is like a Roman Legion crossing an English marsh at dawn Individuals are swept along faces looking down bumping into each like dominoes faces looking up while Molly talks to herself standing on the corner watching the cars go by and waiting forever to cross Or have one of my ancestral spirits come down and reassure me that my gamble will pay off or my future girlfriend would stop giving it up to every passing fancy That doesn t explain the millions of Lasagna eating ants that cross my countertops or the invasion of tiny black crabs on my dining room chair that she sat in one day last week during the equinox when suddenly all was lost and all was mellow Okay so from here on in you re lactose intolerant and have refused to feed the animals scratching on your back door Oh God I remember that morning when you woke up and discovered all your daughters were screwing the neighbor s mangy dog Where did you go wrong and why weren t you despite all yours prayers and incantations saved by the bell In a sudden flash of insight you realized it only happened in the movies you re making and in the scripts you re writing Oh Wiilomenal Poor Willomena Your mind has finally caught up to you and left you sitting in the garden munching on weeds or swimming in a dirty pool poisoned by chlorine and pee from the neighbor s kids who were never taught to keep it in their pants Okay you say you finally see it there it is the creative impulse that drives you speeding to your destiny like a wide open semi on winding country roads Oh Wiilomena Poor Willomena Your mind has finally caught up to you and left you sitting in the garden munching on weeds or swimming in a dirty pool poisoned by chlorine and pee Guess what the project is reaching completion Suddenly yes the end is in sight and your fingers cross the keys like lightning and the actress as beautiful as she is didn t bathe the day she had to do her only nude sex scene Only you the big bad Director responsible to make it look like Burt Lancaster and Reddy Lamar on the beach in From here to Eternity realize why things are not working out the way they re supposed to There you are again the creative you tap dancing on the set and singing Change Change Change while secretly thinking Why am I on this ship of fools Editor s Note Matt DeGennaro is a spirtual being and Award Winning Writer who knows what s where and why s how

The Science of Emotion The relationship or relations between yourself and your undeveloped emotional actions still has a source or energy that is entropy The cause of oneself is an interruption of the soulful self and being Since entropy and its order has properties thoughts have properties too including being translucent There is much to be learned from that speci tl c ordering of energy from your personal connection not assumptions Next we must de tl ne an emotion An emotion like most every other immaterial entity is a projection of information from the immaterial void to the material realm It is in this room we find the most confusion The chaos that is and can be distributed from the internal self to the external action causes a distinct disruption in the energy that we don t understand This is why we work on the living science and action of emotional intelligence Emotion is a distinctly different ordering of entropy than a thought or thoughts in the emotional body An emotions primary components are different and its properties of transient and ampli tl cation have different difusion rates or rates of spreading increasing In essence an emotion is the motion of feeling of the soul As the souls tendencies changes with respect to time the interference constructive or decon structive between the information in the soul and its physical environment create a change or movement in the order of energy of the soul Essentially emotion can be thought of as immaterial motion wherein the void the soul s information entropy reacts to what information it receives For ex ample suppose some soul which has the tendency of being predominantly loving interacts with information of a recent death or let s say disturbances This information will bring motion to the soul within the void that corresponds to the entropic information of sadness A being feels this emotion via the physical body Just like with a thought that is synthesized or decomposed the in tl nite feedback loop of mind and matter is the route of which the information travels In this case the information that travels into the being is the combination of love Love is connected to each other in the immaterial void Every being is partially connected to each other in the material realm Another way to think of this is we are all connected to the same delocalized zero tl eld that is the A GLIMPSE OF TOMORROW by Toure Muhammed We often hear stories of people who set out on a new adventure in their lives only to stumble upon the place where they truly belong Sometimes it s due to some drastic transition in life Some seek to prove to themselves and others that the vision they see for their life is more than just a dream Brave enough to seek the own and currently unseen they find themselves in the midst of a community waiting to support them and a family ready to embrace them Looking beyond their race beliefs gender sexual orientation or physical abilities real acceptance is found For this writer Action on Film was a place of unexpected acceptance of the individual the spirit and the true self I have attended Action on Film Festival twice but I have had projects there for three years ng I have been blessed to have most of those projects gain recognition in many areas Salina P won the Allen Bailey Award for Excellence in Filmmaking Killing Joanne won for Best Actress and Best Urban film last year Dis Connected a piece that I wrote directed acted in and produced won for Best Adaption of Love a honor that truly holds a special place in my memory As I stepped on the stage to accept my award I gave honor to my mother who had recently transitioned And though my words shook and my eyes watered I felt love and support in the room I am getting a little ahead of myself The first year I attended AOF there were so many things going on and to be totally honest I was completely blind to it until I sat at the awards dinner and listen to Del talk about all of those who had made deals for their projects Still I was not sure of the impact AOF could potentially play in my life I made a decision that night that I would not only be back at AOF but that I would better utilize my time In 2018 I took a step out and submitted two projects to AOF and one to Hollywood Dreams I waited for the announcement of the nominees One was Dis Connected and the other was Lost and Found Dis Connected I entered into both Hollywood Dreams and AOF The waiting was torturous I checked the website daily to see the list I was nervous When the Action on Film list was posted and neither film was on it I was shook to the core But there was one list left I continued to check for the Hollywood Dreams list I held my breath everyday until it was posted When I saw the list and Dis Connected listed as a nominee I was confused I am not an excitable person so all those tingles of excitement and the smile trying to break through felt like some sort of weird convulsion that I was completely unfamiliar with I didn t know of I should scream or cry smile or jump up and down So I decided to play it as cool as I could even though there was a whole lot of stuff going on inside me I was an iceberg of emotions Luckily I had a few friends who knew how to act and they were excited for me I and a close friend now business partner immediately began discussing travel arrangements Fast forward to the week of the festival I arrived in Vegas and checked into my room I was still playing it very cool I still had no idea what affect this trip would have on my life but I was glad to be back I I I _ t t 1 1 I L J r 1

MY LUNCH WITH DEL and how he got me off my ss I by James Musselman Pen and paper arrived They were handed to me Please Note While this is what we ate and drank Food is not to scale Draw a line put a perpendicular line on each end and one in the middle Who are the characters What is the beginning What is the ending Most writers know the beats in a film Del had me write them down I filled out the main plot points and before I knew it I had the beat sheet for my fl lm In less veggie Burger than 20 minutes It seemed so easy But back at home not so much So I wanted to look at why I was procrastinating but more importantly what I could do about it Here are my discoveries now tips to help me not only start but finish my script Hopefully it will help with yours too I am assuming everyone reading this like me have a full time job family commitments and a life outside writing Thanks to President Trump s visit to town all of the major roads in the area were closed Traffic is something I loathe Nothing boils my blood like sitting in traffic that does not move with no way to do anything about it Most times I feel like turning around and heading home Del stuck with it He made our appointment He waived to our waiter What is your name Michael Michael bring me a Bombay Sapphire and tonic squeeze in some lime and shake the shit out of it Don t let me catch that bartender stirring it To me So what are you working on I panicked I have a couple of ideas percolating but seem to have trouble getting them on the page I m slow The excuses rolled out I have taken on coaching my daughter s basketball team A big help to the girls but a time suck My favorite excuse Work is super busy Myjob is writing and directing commercials so writing my feature script is kind of like a busman s holiday We have hit a stretch of work that seems monumental I stopped short of blaming the sun in my eyes He calls the waiter over again Michael count to ten for me Michael obeys Ok One two three four five six seven eight nine ten Then to me There youjust wasted ten seconds of your time wasted ten seconds of Michael s time and ten seconds of my time That s thirty seconds we will never get back What are you wasting time for Del and Michael wait for my response I shrug Del Have you taken my script writing seminar I missed last year s festival due to work commitment Del asked Michael for a piece of paper and a pen Tell me an idea for a script I stumbled of over one of my loglines Great ideal Del announced The best advice is to write every day We have all heard this before but boy is this important Sometimes I can only set aside twenty minutes It tends to be a very productive twenty I also find that once I start I lose track of the time which is a good indication that I really love to write A book I am reading right now is The Atomic Habits by James Clear It is a book about easy and proven ways to build good habits and break bad ones The core idea here is that tiny changes make a big difference Think about getting one percent better at something every day verses getting one percent worse After one day you will not notice any difference either way but at the end of the year if you get one percent better every day you will be almost four hundred percent better verses one percent worse every day at the end of the year you would be almost at zero Writing is a muscle that needs to be exercised Think about how easy it is to get out of shape after you miss a couple of weeks at the gym Writing a script is a lot of work Sometimes this mountain can seem too high to climb Missing 20 minutes is not going to make any difference an excuse I used often Wrong Writing every day chips away at the monster I don t expect to write the entire script in a weekend but the page a day adds up fast Before you know it you have a first draft Find a time to write that works for you The most productive time for your brain is the morning and least is mid afternoon Due to work and family commitments I usually write in the evening After the kids are in bed and the house is quiet I am sometimes so tired I don t feel like doing anything A big part of fixing this was to redefine what it means to me to write I remind myself that to sit and write something that is just for me and not for my clients is a reward and not a chore So evening works for me Find what works for you If you have to get up a half hour early and write then do it To quote Pulitzer Prize winner Hisham Matar If I wake up at an early hour and write 500 words each day I will in time have a book Schedule your writing time I was overweight and out of shape Weighing in at 220 I was concerned about my health I finally decided to do something about it I decided to schedule my workouts Nothing could interrupt that meeting a meeting between me and the gym The only exception is fl lming A shoot day trumps all No edit session internal external or production meeting not even a client meeting could be scheduled during my workout I have dropped twenty pounds and am looking to lose 20 more I look forward to my workouts and hate it when I have to cancel This is a good habit Make writing a
