2023 was an incredible year of God-led transition and opportunity. In2022, Gerri Leach let the boardknow she would be retiring in Juneof 2023. This initiated our boardinto forming a search team andmapping out a timeline ofannouncement and filling the roleof Executive Director for the JailChaplains organization. WELCOMEDEARFRIENDS!David Todd, Board ChairIt's always a little stressful to begin a search in hopes of finding God'sappointed person to fill such an important role for an organization, but weprayed for God's discernment and His guidance in finding the right person. As soon as we met Mike Little and interviewed him for the ExecutiveDirector position for Jail Chaplains, we knew this was who God wanted forthis position. On February 16th, 2023, we hosted a media event and invitedeveryone associated with Jail Chaplains. At our media event, we announcedGerri's upcoming retirement and introduced our new Executive DirectorMike Little. What an exciting event!!As an organization we went through the executive director transition fairlyseamlessly as Mike slowly took the reins while Gerri slowly stepped back. When Mike had operational control, he began the process and search to fillthe position of Director of Chaplaincy Services. Mike and the existing staffdid an exhaustive search along with much prayer and found the person theyfelt was God's chosen person for this position. Chaplain John Ahola hasbeen a great addition to the team and it feels like we've got a cohesive teamthat enjoys working together and challenging each other. Now that our transition year of 2023 has come to a close and we've enteredinto 2024, we are conducting a strategic planning summit to chart our wayforward as an organization serving God. Our Mission statement says,"Sharing the message of salvation as we serve and disciple through the loveand compassion of Jesus Christ". We will find bigger and better ways to dothat while glorifying God and staying on mission as we move forward.David Todd, Board Chair1

STATEMENT OF FAITHWe believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, the co-eternal Trinity;Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, God's Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born ofthe Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary atoning death on thecross, rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven where, as truly God andtruly man, He is the only mediator between God and man.We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative and inspired Word. It is withouterror in all its teachings, including creation, history, its own origins and salvation.Christians must submit to its divine authority, both individually and corporately, inall matters of belief and conduct, which is demonstrated by true righteous living. We believe in the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. Wealso uphold the holy institution of marriage between one man and one woman, rooted as it is in God’s creation of man and woman in His image and in therelationship between Christ and His Church. We believe that all people are born lost sinners and cannot see the Kingdom of Godexcept through the new birth. Justification is by grace through faith in Christ alone. We believe in one holy, universal and apostolic Church. Its calling is to worship Godand witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, preaching the Gospel among allnations and demonstrating its commitment by compassionate service to the needsof human beings and promoting righteousness and justice. We believe in the necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit for the individual's newbirth and growth to maturity, and for the Church's constant renewal in truth, wisdom, faith, holiness, love, power and mission. We believe that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in glory to raise thedead and bring salvation and judgment to completion. God will fully manifest Hiskingdom when He establishes a new heaven and new earth, in which He will beglorified forever, and exclude all evil, suffering and death.3JailChaplains.com
