Ourgrantmaking and program relatedinvestment funding continued to focuson creating employment andentrepreneurship opportunities for thosein need. TheFoundation continues to expand itsrural grantmaking, including increasingour past investments in regions such asthe San Luis Valley, where under-employment, generational poverty andaccess to education is lacking. In 2019, we will continue to expand ourprogram related investment portfolio bypartnering with social enterprises tocreate meaningful careers for the under-served. Invitations to apply for a grant are sent to mission-alignedorganizations throughout the year, generally no later than 60 days beforethe grant proposal deadline. The Foundation has instituted two deadlinesto apply for funding: March 1 – Basic Human Needs that remove barriers to employmentSeptember 1 – Entrepreneurship and Jobs Programs For organizations interested in applying, who have not received aninvitation to apply, please submit a letter of inquiry alongside year-to-date financial statements (state of income and balance sheet).
