by Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay Artist,Dennis GoldingHealing from the ground explores the connections between land, people and wellbeing. Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay Artist Dennis Golding has produced a digital artwork that informs how Aboriginal storytelling is shared from markings on Country, and with Country. The artist uses pigments of different ochre tones of browns, greys and whites to reference the deep layers of land. The artist speaks about being connected to land as a healing process, culturally, spiritually and emotionally. Symbols of meeting places, waterholes trail lines form the pathways in which our people use for greater health, wellbeing and understanding of culture. Other elements include footsteps which are human markings on land in which the body and mind is connecting to earth - to our Country.Healing fromThe Ground

We are honoured to co-host the fourth ALIVE National Centre’s Annual Symposium with Children’s Ground in Mparntwe Northern Territory; Arrernte Country. From March 26 to the 28th2025 we will explore collective strategies and actions for Holistic Transitions—that is, the movement from the current state into a regenerated ecosystem of care.Day 1 will share learnings from models and research that provide the foundations for Day 2’s interactive workshop to develop new ways of understanding what matters and for whom. The symposium closes with a full Day of PEACE that illustrates the role of Preventive, Experiential, Arts and Cultural Evidence models in holistic wellbeing with partners NPY Women’s Council and more to be added soon.We are delighted to be able to launch the National Centre’s sixth flagship Whose Care is Left Behind? This five-year project is funded as part of a mental health research grant Targeted Research Call by the Medical Research Future Fund. More details are provided on p.11. Since 2022 we have journeyed from Nipaluna (Hobart, Tasmania) with the plan for a codesigned roadmap, we reviewed Holistic Terrains in Larrakia (2023) (Darwin, Northern Territory) and in 2024 we identified the policy and practice arrangements for Holistic Formations in Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country (Canberra, ACT). This led to our Call to Action Casting the Net for What Matters and for Whom? Which is outlined on the next four pages..For 2025 we now co-create strategies and actions to move from one state to flourishing ecosystems through Holistic Transitions.Werte - HelloThank you for joining in us for Holistic Transitions 20252022 – Nipaluna, Hobart2023 – Larrakia, Darwin2024 – Ngunnawal and Ngambri, Canberra2025 – Mparntwe, Alice Springs

#alivesymp25 www.alivenetwork.com.auDay 1 Lived-Knowledges Indigenous-Led EcosystemsAmpe-kenhe Ahelhe –Children's Ground, central Australia The Children’s Ground Approach (CG Approach) is a 25-year strategy that centres First Nations systems of governance and knowledge, combining these with Western leading practice and international evidence. With a focus on prevention, the integrated service system delivers education, health, employment, economic and community development. Cultural knowledge and practice are embedded across all areas. The CG Approach starts with children and grows with them and their families from birth through to adulthood. It is a whole-of-community approach tailored to the specific needs of each community, addressing key social, cultural and economic determinants of life-long opportunity and wellbeing.
