Social Security Act

The purpose of the social security act is to provide for those who can't work. People with disabilities, retired, unemployed 


The purpose of the SSA is to reform society.  


The Social Security Act was signed by FDR on August 14, 1935

This started for the people in January 1940

On January 14, 1935 the social security act started. The SSA was for retierd works, people who were hurt on the job, unemployment insureance, money for dependent mothers and children, the blind and physically handicap. This act provided general welfare for the list of people named. 


The SSA is still around today and the same rules are still applyed as when it was first created. Today, 37 million people get Social Security benefits of more than $15 billion a month
