Welcome WELCOME Dear Patriot Family On behalf of ALA Patriots Football and the Patriots Gridiron Club it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Fall 2019 football season We are so excited for this season and invite you to join both our varsity and junior varsity teams as they take the field to compete each week With over 20 seniors two dozen returning varsity players and a full junior varsity roster our players coaches and staff are more excited than ever for the potential this season holds Our mission at ALA is to provide the best educational experience to as many students as possible in a moral and wholesome environment and that mission extends to the gridiron We are proud of the unique role we play in helping families develop student athletes with unshakeable determination and strong core values Consistent with our mission we are working diligently to build and sustain a highly competitive football program with athletes of exceptional character and we re off to a good start Over the past six years our teams have posted a 64 10 overall win loss record made five playoff appearances and won two state championships AIA and CAA More importantly we ve established a program built on our R A I S E values of RESPECT ACCOUNTABILITY INTEGRITY SERVICE and personal EXCELLENCE Our coaches and staff spend extraordinary amounts of time teaching and modeling our school values and giving our players opportunities to practice them Our student athletes have responded well and have established a tradition of winning with those values both on and off the field We are very proud of the young men they are becoming they have worked very hard preparing to compete this season and to lead with dignity among their peers We appreciate the countless efforts and support of our trainers staff faculty parents friends and family in all that we do With your help we are building a truly exceptional high school football program that will stand as the flag bearer for ALA s values and a beacon of greatness and honor in our community Thank you for all that you do we can t wait to see you at the games this season Go Patriots Richard Edwards Varsity Football Head Coach and Athletic Director American Leadership Academy Queen Creek American leadership academy 7 QUEEN CREEK FOOTBALL 2019

Patriot Fan SPORTsmanship Calling all citizens of P TOWN Friday night lights are here again The PATRIOTS are coming in hot and the BUNKER is ROCKIN so join the best student section in Arizona loudly and proudly as we cheer our PATRIOTS on toward our victory If this is your first season with us or you are a little unsure of the proper ways to show you re PROUD TO BE A PATRIOT here is a quick guide to some of the cheers and traditions of PATRIOTS fans at our games along with some pro tip Dos and Don ts Cheering is for ALL Patriots fans not just the Bunker So be respectful be a good sport DON T BE SHY and DO JOIN IN A FEW DO S DO participate in cheers and game traditions with our Spirit Line and the Bunker including dressing out for THEME nights It makes the experience so much better for all and shows unwavering support for our players and coaches on the field The 12th Man is a real thing DO show respect for opposing players coaches spectators and support groups Welcome them to P Town and treat them as our guests Congratulate them on their strengths and good play DO stand at attention during our National Anthem remove any hats face the flag place hand over heart and remain quiet or sing the lyrics with respect and energy while the anthem is played DO display graciousness in victory and sportsmanship in defeat DO use cheers that are positive and supportive of our players A FEW DON TS DON T use profanity or display fits of anger that draw attention away from the game or potentially distract our players and coaches DON T be a back seat coach Never yell criticisms at individual players or coaches on the field DON T criticize officials or display temper with their calls DON T blame any losses on officials coaches or team staff DON T engage in yells that deliberately antagonize an opponent or target an opposing player American leadership academy 32 QUEEN CREEK FOOTBALL 2019

FANATIC fa nat ic n A person whose enthusiasm or zeal for something is extreme or beyond normal limits Football Game Traditions and Proper Cheering Etiquette ahem On Kickoffs Make an insane amount of noise that builds as the team starts its advance to kick the ball The yell is a steady and growing oooooooOOOOOAAAHHHH when the ball is kicked On Offense Limit the noise BEFORE each play and let our boys hear the signal calls Church mouse time After a big play though cheer loudly until the boys go back into the huddle On Defense Be loud Make tons of noise jump up and down ring those cow bells ruin those vocal chords Definitely NOT church mouse time Follow our spirit line as they lead us in chants of DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE Big Third and Fourth Downs on Defense Get REALLY loud as soon as the opposing team huddles get the rest of the stadium to stand up and yell LOUD and together in a steady AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH all the way past the snap of the ball Also more COW BELL After Each First Down The PA announcer calls out That s anoootherrrrrrr Patrioooooot and together the Bunker and the crowd yell FIRST DOWN at the top of their lungs while making the first down hand signal After the Defense Forces a Turnover fumble or interception The players who caused the turnover get to ring the Turnover Bell in front of the Bunker and the fans ring back with their cowbells and noisemakers MORE COW BELL After a Touchdown First of all everyone goes crazy so don t hold back As soon as the extra point is made the band plays our Go Mighty Patriots fight song and our spirit line leads the crowd in singing the fight song At the end of the fight song we chant in unison GO RED GO BLUE A L A PATRIOTS PATRIOTS ALL THE WAY With fists pumping in the air Then the cheerleaders hold up the push up board while one brave cheerleader does push ups for every point scored Sometimes they will form a kick line and do a kick for each point Please join our spirit line in singing the fight song and cheering them on as they commemorate EVERY POINT scored by the Patriots Between Third and Fourth Quarters The loudspeakers often play crowd favorites like Sweet Caroline or Jump Around Join the biggest Karaoke party in the Valley or JUMP up and down when you hear the music play and get ready to help our boys bring home the victory in the fourth quarter After Each Game Right after shaking hands with the opponent the entire team gathers right in front of the fans and the players raise their helmets in the air while leading us all in a final rendition of Go Mighty Patriots to close out the evening Stay in the stands for this one it s a don t miss event after every game American leadership academy 33 QUEEN CREEK FOOTBALL 2019
