Padrino honorifico del festival Jan harlan En el centro Jan Harlan junto a Heinz Hermanns curador Izquierda y Marko Montana Director del festival Derecha Ser padrino honorario del nuevo Festival Internacional de Cine de Almagro me permite transmitir mi mantra la suma por excelencia de todo lo que aprend de mi jefe y maestro Stanley Kubrick durante m s de treinta a os 1 Es muy f cil hacer una pel cula 2 No es muy f cil hacer una pel cula que otros quieren ver 3 Una gran pel cula es casi un milagro como cualquier gran obra de arte ya sea una pintura novela sinfon a el trabajo de un arquitecto o cineasta Espero y conf o en que los participantes en este nuevo festival tendr n la oportunidad de identificarse con esta verdad dura e iluminadora una verdad que es desafiante y que no debe impedir que ning n artista siga su amor y pasi n sin importar c mo se reciba el trabajo Jan Harlan As an honorary patron of the new Almagro International Film Festival allow me to pass on my mantra the quintessential sum of all I have learned from my boss and master Stanley Kubrick over thirty years 1 It is very easy to make a film 2 It is not very easy to make a film that others want to see 3 A great film is almost a miracle like any great work of art be that a painting novel symphony the work of an architect or film maker I hope and trust that participants in this new festival will have a chance to identify with this hard and enlightening truth a truth that is challenging and should not hinder any butting artist to follow his or her love and passion regardless of how the work is received Jan Harlan

A lo largo del a o se celebra en Almagro multitud de acontecimientos culturales unos consolidados por larga tradici n y otros recientes unos obedeciendo al impulso privado y otros al p blico unos m s ambiciosos y otros menos todos de calidad suficiente para que en conjunto los almagre os podamos considerar a la nuestra como una aut ntica ciudad de la cultura en la que no solo brilla el teatro sino que est abierta a todas las manifestaciones art sticas y a las tradiciones y artesan as populares Sin embargo pese a algunas catas y tentativas nos faltaba hasta ahora adentrarnos en el mundo del cine Por eso me causa especial satisfacci n la iniciativa que aqu se presenta el Almagro International Film Festival que se desarrollar entre los d as 8 y 12 de agosto que estar dedicado a los cortometrajes que ocupar espacios cuyo v nculo con el mundo del espect culo es indudable y que ofrecer a los almagre os y visitantes atractivos suficientes para llenarlos Pero adem s la satisfacci n se multiplica si tenemos en cuenta que la iniciativa de este festival parte de un almagre o Marko Montana que a pesar de su juventud tiene ya un curr culo largo y brillante Marko Montana es decir Jos Miguel Calzado Espinosa ha desarrollado su actividad en mbitos internacionales y ha ganado un prestigio y obtenido premios relevantes que se acuerde ahora de su pueblo para hacerlo sede de esta actividad es algo que los almagre os hemos de agradecerle Con demasiada frecuencia y casi siempre a la ligera se suelen hacer juicios apresurados sobre la juventud actual Yo s que entre los j venes como entre los miembros de las dem s etapas de la vida habr de todo pero s tambi n que la inmensa mayor a se desempe a en la vida con tes n perseverancia y creatividad Aqu tenemos un ejemplo Por eso el Ayuntamiento de Almagro apoy la idea desde el primer momento y puso al servicio de la misma los medios con que cuenta Ahora solo falta que el xito premie el esfuerzo que tanta gente est invirtiendo Estoy seguro de que lo premiar estoy seguro de que los almagre os y visitantes responder n como el acontecimiento lo merece y estoy seguro tambi n de que esta primera edici n no ser la ltima Daniel Reina Ure a Alcalde de Almagro Throughout the year many cultural events are held in Almagro some consolidated by a long tradition and others recent some are due to the private impulse and others to the public some more ambitious and others less all of sufficient quality so that as a whole the people of Almagro can consider ours as an authentic city of culture in which not only the theater shines but it is open to all the artistic manifestations and popular and artisanal traditions However despite some tastings and attempts we still needed to enter the world of cinema For this reason I am particularly pleased with the initiative presented here the Almagro International Film Festival which will take place between August 8 and 12 which will be dedicated to short films which will occupy spaces whose link with the world of entertainment is undoubted and that will offer the people of Almagro and visitors enough attractions to fill them But in addition the satisfaction is multiplied if we bear in mind that the initiative of this festival is based on an Almagro citizen Marko Montana who despite his youth already has a long and brilliant curriculum Marko Montana that is Jos Miguel Calzado Espinosa has developed his activity in international fields and has gained a reputation and obtained relevant prizes that he remember now his town to make it the seat of this activity is something that we have to thank him for Too often and almost always lightly hasty judgments are made about current youth I know that among young people as among the members of the other stages of life there will be everything but I also know that the immense majority works in life with determination perseverance and creativity Here we have an example Therefore the City of Almagro supported the idea from the start and put at the service of it the means it has Now all that s left is for success to reward the effort that so many people are investing I am sure that people will reward him I am sure that the city of Almagro and visitors will respond as the event deserves and I am also sure that this first edition will not be the last The mayor of Almagro Daniel Reina Ure a

Detr s de todo gran proyecto hay un gran equipo que lo hace posible Un equipo un conjunto interdependiente de personas que trabaja para conseguir una meta en com n en el que las debilidades de uno son suplidas por las fortalezas del otro La experiencia demuestra que en la mayor a de los casos la idea es de una sola persona Pero esa misma experiencia tambi n nos confirma que el desarrollo de esa idea se produce con el respaldo de un equipo El del Festival Internacional de Cine de Almagro est formado por una quincena de personas todas ellas con sus ra ces en el pueblo de Almagro que han dado lo mejor de s mismos y han resultado fundamentales para que esta iniciativa salga adelante Desde el director Marko Montana hasta los dise adores gr ficos pasando por los asistentes de direcci n o la jefa de prensa todos ellos han aportado su granito de arena con un pensamiento com n juntos sumamos m s Behind every great project there is a great team that makes it possible A team an interdependent set of people working to achieve a common goal in which one s weaknesses are met by the strengths of the other Experience shows that in most cases the idea is one person But that same experience also confirms that the development of that idea is produced with the support of a team The Almagro International Film Festival is made up of fifteen people all of them with their roots in the town of Almagro who have given the best of themselves and have been fundamental for this initiative to move forward From the director Marko Montana to the graphic designers through the assistant directors or the director of communication all of them have contributed their bit with a common thought together we add more 9

tapas de cine El Festival Internacional de Cine de Almagro en colaboraci n con Restauradores de Almagro ha creado la ruta de las tapas de cine con el objetivo de conectar la gastronom a y las artes audiovisuales usando como tel n de fondo un com n denominador la variedad creativa Asistir a nuestro Festival de cortometrajes es al cine lo que irse de tapas es a la gastronom a Almagro International Film Festival in collaboration with Bars restaurants of Almagro has created the film tapas route with the aim of connecting gastronomy and the audiovisual arts using as a backdrop a common denominator creative variety Attend our Festival of short films is to the cinema what to go from tapas is to gastronomy Esta iniciativa consiste en la creaci n de un punto de encuentro de los asistentes al Festival a trav s de una ruta por diferentes establecimientos de la localidad con el objetivo de crear un ambiente propicio a socializar reuniendo a todas las personas que se encuentren en la ciudad para crear una sinergia entre la gastronom a y el cine This initiative is creating a meeting point for those attending the Festival through a route through different establishments in the locality with the aim of creating an environment conducive to socializing bringing together all people who are in the city to create a synergy between gastronomy and cinema En concreto cada establecimiento elaborar una distinta tapa basada en una pel cula y se acompa ar de un tr ptico que explique el proceso de creaci n de la misma sus ingredientes y la relaci n con la pel cula correspondiente Cuando se visiten cuatro establecimientos que elaboran estas tapas se podr acudir gratis a las proyecciones de la noche Specifically each establishment will develop a different tapa based on a film and will be accompanied by a triptych that explains the process of creating it its ingredients and the relationship with the corresponding film When four establishments that produce these tapas are visiting you can go free night projections 43
