In addition to my responsibilities at the academy, I am also a college professor. I amliving my dream of teaching teachers how toteach while continuing to impact the lives ofyoung people in our community. Armed with 25years of experience as a middle school socialstudies teacher in public schools, National Boardof Education Certification, Gifted and Talentedendorsement, and a passion for teaching andlearning, I pursued a doctorate in teaching andlearning to explore how the brain works and usethat knowledge to enhance student learning andmotivation.I founded Alma Bella Academy because I believeour community needs a safe and nurturingenvironment where students can discover a loveof learning in a stress-free space without thepressures of high stakes testing and traditionalgrades. The best way to learn is by doing.Activities like sewing, pottery, and painting gobeyond using needles, clay, and paint. Theyfoster critical thinking and problem-solvingskills, keeping your brain engaged. Creating artallows you to experiment, analyze mistakes, anddevelop improvement plans, benefiting yourmind, body, and spirit. It strengthens cognitiveability, reduces stress, and ultimately makes youa happier person. At Alma Bella Academy, students will enjoylearning new things, meeting new friends, anddeveloping meaningful connections.
