Aerocom Metals started in 2008 as a distributor of high strength alloy tubing to the UK motorsport industry. Within two years, thebusiness had been accredited to aerospace series standard AS9120, and had expanded its range of high strength alloy tubing toincluded British Standard T45 and Aerospace Material Specification (AMS) 4130.Today, Aerocom Metals has over 2000 customers in 40 countries, in-house processing for plate tube sheet and bar and over £2,500,000inventory in aerospace AMS, QQA, QQS, WWT, MIL, WERKSTOFF, AFNOR and BS materials. Our approvals include global aerospace OEM'sin the aerospace, space, defence, motorsport, medical and high precision engineering industries. As of 2023, Aerocom boasts one of the largest ranges of aerospace sheet products in AMS QQA BS L and OEM standards. In aluminium,we now stock 1000#, 2000#, 3000#, 4000#, 5000#, 6000#, & 7000# series in a variety of tempers from AMS-QQ-A standards to BS Lstandards, such as L165 L166 and L167. In stainless steel, we cover a full range of 300# austenitic grades as well as PH grades like 17/417/7 & 15/5. Our alloy steels include 4130 in both annealed and normalised, and British Standard S515. Finally, our nickel alloy 625 rangeruns 0.032" (0.81mm) to 0.125" (3.175mm), but we also hold a full range of tube in nickel alloy 625 AMS5581 running OD sizes 0.500"(12.7mm) through to 4.000" (101.6mm).During early 2023, Aerocom Metals invested over £300,000 into infrastructural development of an additional site to increase capacityand processing speed of our flat sheet product ranges. The fit out included a 264 location cassette system allowing a stocking capacityof 264 tonnes of material which furthers our strength in the aerospace and MRO sectors.
AEROSPACE tubesTemperature resistant - light alloy - corrosion resistant - high pressureand high strength tubes for the aerospace industry
Since 2008, Aerocom Metals has built on a rich history of tubularsales to the automotive industry in high strength steel productslike American standard 4130 and British standard T45. 16 yearslater, Aerocom Metals now holds an extensive range of aerospaceround, rectangular, square and custom shaped tubes in nickelalloy, titanium, corrosion resistant stainless, aluminium andalloyed steel.Stocks are held in one of our three UK warehouses with a typicalsize range starting at 0.125" (3.18mm) outside diameter and risingto 4.500" (114.3mm). Wall thicknesses typically start at 0.016"(0.41mm) and can be as large as 0.250" (6.35mm).Stocked alloys include:Aluminium - 2024, 5052, 6061, 7075Nickel Alloy - 625CRES - 21-6-9, 304, 316, 321, 347, T68, T72Titanium - 3AL2.5VAlloy Steel - 4130, T45, 15CDV6Typical Standards - AMS, WWT, MIL, BS and OEM
tube processing centretube processing centre
The range of in-house processing sets Aerocom Metals apart: CNC laser cutting to length, ultrasonic cleaning, ID polishing, OD polishing and automated deburring. We work on ourprocessing to ensure quality and cleanliness are at the heart of our operation; that’s whymaterial moving through our automated tube laser only touches high strength plastic faced partsto ensure indication free material. Where requested, we also individually wrap tubes to preventfriction during transit. We understand mechanical properties can play a major part in the success of the bendingprocess, and we work closely with approved manufacturers to adapt specifications to better fitour customers demands. This can be from tighter chemistry tolerances of input materials, toproven thermal treatment processes to achieve consistent results.

During 2023, Aerocom Metals invested over £300,000 in infrastructural upgrades toour sheet centre. A new cassette system was installed with 264 locations custommade to suit all our sheet sizes. The investment is to bolster our ever expandingaerospace sheet range in support of our aerospace, MRO and defence customers. In addition to adding over 264 tonnes of sheet storage, two new pneumatic sheetlifters, two double sided poly coating lines and a new hydraulic guillotine were addedwith a cut capacity of 10mm (0.393") and a cut width 2438mm (96").

Long products come in many forms - round, square, rectangular, hexagonal, triangular and when it comes to extrusions there is littlelimit to the custom shapes that are achievable.Aerocom Metals is continually investing in our long product rangeto ensure an in-depth and varied range of alloys. In 2023, Aerocomlaunched a range of British Standards BS S143, BS S144, BS S145 &BS L168 to compliment our ever growing range of American AMS,QQA and QQS alloys. In fact, some of the largest extrusions we’vepurchased have been in BS L168 with flat extrusion up to 500mmwide and our largest cross sectional area at an impressive 61,600sq mm (140mm x 440mm).Cutting to length, hard part marking, ink part marking and exportISMP15 certified packing are all part of our process whenrequested.Stocked alloys include:Aluminium - 2024, 5052, 6061, 7075, BS L168Nickel Alloy - 625, 718CRES - Nimonic, Nitronic, 304, 316, 321, 347, 17/4, 15/5, 13/8, BSS143, S144 & S145Titanium - 6Al4V, CPAlloy Steel - 4130, 52100, 9310, 4340, 300MTypical Standards - AMS, QQA, QQS, BS and OEM
Aerocom Metals offers a comprehensive processing capacity that is valued by ourcustomers. In-house bar, tube and plate saw cutting, tight tolerance cold saw cutting, ultrasonic cleaning, ID and OD polishing are just a few of the processes that Aerocom Metalsoffers. We are used to working with material for critical applications; that’s why we use in-housespectrometers to challenge the integrity of incoming documentation and material. Where indepth mechanical characteristics require validation, we work closely with NADCAPlaborotory AQC in Naples.
Our plate saw has a capacity to cut up to 500mm (19.7") thick material in soft aluminium alloys to harder stainless steels. Typically, youwould find stainless materials like 17/4 AMS5604 and 15/5 AMS5862, or harder aluminiums like 2024 T851 AMS-QQ-A-250/4 and 7075 T7351AMS-QQ-A-250/12 being cut on our Temelsan. Our operators have over 20 years of combined experience in understanding the correct cutting tools, feeds and speeds to ensure evendifficult to cut materials are viable.
Aerocom Metals has exported to over 40 countries which accounts for a high percentage of ourannual turnover. We understand the protocols required when it comes to export, from countryrestrictions, to non-recyclable plastic packaging waste, container loading, to ISMP 15 packing.Trade shows have always been a great way to meet old friends and new acquaintances. Checkout our website for our latest show involvements. Our website has some great toolbox resources to calculate metal weights, but also has acomprehensive comparison guide for many alloys showing their comparable grade from varyingcountry locations.
As a company that supplies critical aerospace metallics, Aerocom Metals iscommitted to ensuring its processes and business management systems arefully certified and comply with international standards.
