OUR HISTORYFormed in 2007, Advantix Development Corporation serves as thenon-profit development instrument of the Evansville HousingAuthority. Since 2007, Advantix has served as developer andgeneral contractor for both 4% and 9% Low Income Housing TaxCredit development projects. Advantix works with localjurisdictions to develop several other types of affordable housingin Indiana and other surrounding states. WHERE WE ARE NOWOur team continues to grow each year to meet the needs of ourportfolio and the clients we serve. We continue to make progresson current projects while always looking for opportunities todevelop new projects for funding in the coming years. Advantixteam members strive to learn and find new ways of providingservice to our residents. This includes participating in Communityfor Supportive Housing’s (CSH) summits and various conferences,as well as obtaining LIHTC certifications. Our architect partner,Myszak Partners Inc., is a Green Certified professional whoincorporates solutions for sustainable design into every project wedo. Tohelp ensure this is done, Advantix participates in YouthBuild USA, aprogram that simultaneously addresses core issues facing low-incomecommunities: housing, education, employment, crime prevention andleadership development. In YouthBuild programs, low-income youngpeople ages 16-24 work toward their GED or high school diploma, learnjob skills, and serve their communities by building affordable housingand transforming their own lives and roles in society. As such,they incorporate sustainable design into every project completed.These upgrades include the use of building materials made fromrecycled content, Energy Star rated appliances, low VOC materials,onsite storm water management, tree preservation, low maintenancelandscaping, low flow plumbing fixtures, and the inclusion of a HomeOwner’s Manual. In fact, Evansville, IN was one of the first cities in the nation selected by HUD toparticipate in renovating the first 60,000 public housing units in the country through thenew RAD Project.
