OUR MISSIONAbout Us Ace Electric Motor & PumpOur HistoryMelvin Gutsche spent 18 years in the electric motor industry and had a tremendous passion for what he did, so in 1952 he purchased the electric motor division from Heild Electric and founded Ace. He set out on a mission to serve the central valley. Melvin had been running the company for more than 20 years and successfully completed the repair of thousands of motors and pumps when in 1970 he decided to bow out due to health reasons. His youngest son Lance, who had begun working at the shop at the early age of 6, took the reins at 28 years oldin 1970 as operations manager then in 1976, he purchased the company from his father.Lance was committed to his father’s vision for creating an exceptional product which began a more than 34-year love aair with the company his father founded. Lance continued the traditions his father created until April of 2010 when lance decided to retire to spend more time with his family. He sold the company to his then operations manager, Josh Iris, who immediately begin reinvesting into and modernizing the facility. Ace now has more than 13 passionate and performance-oriented team members who are committed to growing, learning, and innovating every day while continuing the traditions and values set into motion so many years ago.ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428

ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428 ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428Avoid Common Issues1. Accelerated Bearing Failure2. Insulation & Winding Damage3. Motor Frame Damage4. Excessive / Uncontrolled Current5. Decreased Motor EciencyThere’s typically no way around it. At some time during a motor’s life, it is likely to experience high vibration levels. Excessive vibration continues to remain one of the earliest indicators of a machine’s health. Through this process, critical motor failures can be avoided. While a multitude of factors can contribute to excessive vibration the most common culprit is damaged bearings. With the wide array of causes for excessive vibration, your technicians will utilize a wide array of tools to detect excessive vibration and diagnose the root cause.ServicesVibration AnalysisGet Ahead of FailuresSafetyReduce DowntimeA major benet of vibration analysis is the ability to identify issues while they are manageable. Before they become shutdown causing failures. Taking care of operational problems asthey crop up, rather than when they’re tooextreme to ignore, signicantly improvesthe safety of everybody involved in youroperation.Detecting motor vibration and its causes early on can allow you to resolve issues with a quick repair or adjustment vs refurbishing or replacement.

Page 12

ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428Misalignment Causes• Premature bearing, seal and coupling failures• Elevated bearing and coupling temperatures• Excessive vibrations• Loosening of bolts/ fasteners• Machine breakageThe bearings operating life span is directly aected by the forces it is exposed to. The slightest misalignment can generate excessive forces to the bearings and seals. A misaligned machine causes stress to both bearings and shafts. As an eect of this the seals open up, allowing lubrication leakage and contamination to enter. All together the bearings lifetime is dramatically shortened.ServicesShaft AlignmentLower Operating Cost Machinery LifespanIdentify Issues EarlyProperly aligned machinery less unscheduled maintenance. Unscheduled maintenance is more expensive than planned maintenance (sometimes as much as 10X). More than 50 % of all pump damage is caused by alignment errors. Hard to believe: If the oset is reduced from 0.5 mm to 0.05 mm, the average interval between failures improves from 4 to an unbelievable 200 monthsEarly detection of machinery failure points can mean the dierence between routine maintenance and full manchinery breakdowns.

Page 13

ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428Extend Bearing LifeWorking ConditionsReduce Vibration & NoiseWhen a piece of equipment isn’t balanced appropriately, the bearing is the component that experiences the most stress. Rather than allowing this part to degrade quickly, contact a machining service for comprehensive dynamic balancing.Machinery that’s working in proper order means less chance for mechanical breakdowns. Creating a safer working environment for your team.Imbalance doesn’t just speed up wear and tear on mechanisms. It also creates an incredible amount of vibration and noise in your facility. Not only does this cause discomfort to the operator, but it could even result in an unsafe workplace.ServicesDynamic BalancingWhen a machine is operating in balance, it is functioning as designed. Numerous consequences could result from having a machine in a smooth, well-balanced operating order. Dynamic balancing, simply put, is a method through which we balance the moving parts of a machine. To do this, we rotate parts at high speed. When we do this we can gain a measurement of the imbalance within the rotating components. We do this by using precision electronic devices, which illustrate the level of vibration. Saving you time, headache, and manpower.

ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428Avoid Common Issues1. Cross-contamination with incompatible materials2. Ingress of water into a lubrication point3. Missed or over-lubrication of key components4. Excessive downtime for maintenance5. Increased labor costs from manual lubricationSingle-Point Automatic Lubrication (SPAL) stands out as a virtually maintenance-free lubrication device that is cost-eective and easy to install. Automatic lubricators can be used in most mechanical environments that require a steady ow of grease. Relevant industrial applications exist in pulp & paper, cement, metal production, petrochemical, automotive, power generation, food processing, water/wastewater treatment, HVAC, and textile, as well as facility management.ServicesLubrication Management24/7/365Precise DeliveryReduce HazardsReliabilityOnce installed and set correctly, these systems are never late, never sick, don’t take a vacation, and deliver consistent results time after time.Automatic greasing puts the right amount of grease, in the right place, at the right time, using the correct grease. This means no lube mixing and a reduction in the amount of grease purchased. Keep employees safe in situations where bearings are cage enclosed and a lock-out/tag-out is required to simply grease a bearing.50% of all bearing failures are due to lubrication issues. Properly lubricated bearings last longer and increase uptime and throughput. A reliable asset is a safer asset.

ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428 ACE ELECTRIC MOTOR & PUMP CO 209-464-6428How Temperatures Rise• Inadequite Airow• Unbalanced Voltage• Voltage Overload• Insulation Failure• Shaft Misalignment• Excessive friction / poor lubricationDid you know? When larger electric motors and pumps heat up, they get bigger and can change shape. And when that happens, shaft alignment becomes a problem. At 1800 rpm, excessive wear and tear can occur, even with normal tolerances. But at twice that speed, the cumulative damage, and energy loss climbs a massive exponential curve, even for the slightest variances. Thermal imagers utilize a specialized camera that converts the infrared information into an image with temperature readings enabling us to detect possible failure points where the temperature is exceptionally high. Helping to prevent a multitude of system failures from power knockouts, res, and halted production. ServicesThermotographyMachinery LifespanIdentify Issues EarlyReturn on InvestmentOne of the most common performance issues in electric motors is overheating. Experts suggest that an 18°F (10°C) degree increase in motor winding temperature can directly aect the insulation of the component and reduce its lifespan by 50%Identifying priorities for planned maintenance, resulting in your spend going where it needed most.Studies have shown that there is basically no downside to regular thermal imaging. While being a testing method that does not require your machines to be out of operation studies have also shown that every $1 spent on regular thermal imaging results in $5 in avoided repair costs.
