תועובש CONTINUED 7:51PM May 25, 2018 י“עשת ןויס א“ח אשנ תשרפ May 28 - Memorial Day -dismissal for Hamilton building at 11:50, dismissal for Williston building at 12:00 noon June 12 - 8G Graduation June 14 - 8B Graduation Rav Yisroel of Chortkov ל״קצז would often mention that the Shabbos following Shavuos is not the תועובש ךאנ תבש, the Shabbos that follows Shavuos, but it is rather the תועובש ךאנ תבש - the Shabbos with more Shavuos. We take the impact of Shavuos and allow that inspiration to continue to flow. The ז״ט writes that the reason the Torah does not mention that Shavuos is ןתמ ןמז וניתרות is because we would perhaps mistakenly think that Shavuos is the only time dedicated to learning Torah. םירבדה ויהוםויה ךווצמ יכנא רשא הלאה: We have an injunction, as Rashi comments, that ויהי אל ןיצר לכהש השדחכ אלא ... הנשי אמגטוידכ ךיניעב .התארקל The words of Torah that Hashem commands us should be as fresh and as exciting as if they were first commanded today. Torah should always be treated with a newness. Matan Torah is not confined to a specific time of year. It is a constant. Every day is a renewal of הרותה תלבק. This is the meaning of the Rebbe’s words .תועובש ךאנ תבש The ideas represented by Shavuos are a constant that continue to enhance the weekdays following the conclusion of the Yom Tov. Thank you to all the Rabbeim and Moros for preparing the talmidim and talmidos for the Yom Tov with inspiring Divrei Torah and beautiful projects. As Dr. Noam Wasserman, our new chairman of the board, mentioned in his April email to everyone, an important element of Torah Academy’s new foundation of governance is our actively tapping the parent body’s deep knowledge of their children’s educational experiences and needs. Therefore, under his guidance, next week we will begin conducting our first-ever systematic survey of all parents. Please make sure to complete the survey when it arrives in your inbox next week so we can learn about what the school is doing well (so those strengths can be maintained) and about its opportunities for improvement. The 10-15 minutes you spend completing the survey will help the school excel at educating your child for the next year and beyond. Thank you in advance for helping us learn about your and your children’s experiences with our school! תבש טוג Rabbi Ochs We are excited about the launch of Shoroshim Grandparents Society. Many of our choshuva grandparents live out of town and are not able to attend our many beautiful programs presented by our classes. We now have livestreaming available so they can watch our events as they happen. The first program to be livestreamed was the 2G Rus play. The girls performed with the grace of practiced actresses. We had viewers from all over the world. On May 15, our grade six girls and their mothers participated in a gala Bas Mitzva Celebration, a first for Torah Academy. Rabbi Ochs, in his opening remarks, addressed the girls on the topic of הליפת which was the theme of the evening. Thank you’s go to Mrs. Bracha Frohlich, a sixth grade parent who was the driving organizational force for the event, to Miss Cheli Fireman, our sixth grade morah, who jumped right on board and planned the creative program, to Mrs. Shira Sternfield who is always ready and willing to share her creative talents, to Mrs. Yehudis Solomon for her inspiring message, to Mrs. Bracha Berzansky for guiding the girls in creating artistic centerpieces, and to all the sixth grade mothers who participated to make the program the success that it was.
