THE PROCEDURES STEPS WITH DR. LARSENLike most cosmetic procedures, the Brazilian Butt Lift starts with anesthesia. The next step is Liposuction. Liposuction will be performed through small incisions. First, local anesthesia will be administered to the affected area, then a thin surgical tool called a cannula is inserted into the incision to loosen excess fat. The fat is then removed from the body using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula. It is common to perform liposuction on the lower back, hips and the area below the buttocks. This helps accentuate the buttocks.The next step is the fat injection. The tissue and fat removed through liposuction are processed and the surgeon will then use a cannula to add fat to the buttocks through tiny injections. HOW DOES RECOVERY WORK AFTER A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?You will likely wake up from surgery with bandages and dressings over the incisions. It is also likely you will be wearing or be instructed to wear a compression garment. (This also aids in the reduction of swelling.) You will not be allowed to sit or lie on your buttocks for 3 weeks after your surgery. This is an important time for your newly placed tissue, as it establishes a blood supply. Sitting can impair blood ow to the new tissue and cause the results of your enhancement to fail. 10
Eventually, Dr. Larsen will allow you to sit in a modied position on a donut or air pillow. This helps avoid putting pressure directly on the buttocks as your body heals. Normal sitting can be resumed after 8 weeks. Although most patients can resume many of their daily activities within 10-14 days and some even return to work within a few weeks. Dr. Larson will help determine the best path of healing for you with your optimal results in mind. Patients often opt for this procedure to obtain a curvier, more youthful or athletic gure. Results from this surgery are considered nal after about 6 months post-surgery. By that point, any residual swelling has gone away and your body has had a chance to fully heal. The results are expected to last many years.However, extreme weight uctuations can affect your surgical results.
