CPR ProgramOfficers Keslar & Woodard came across Mr. Rogers who was down on his luck and had some health issues. His wife had previously gone to Iowa and Mr. Rogers was trying to get to her but needed just a little help to get there. Officers Keslar and Woodard employed the CPR program to provide much needed relief to this member of our community. Great job officers!
Board members of Lodge #5 traveled to Washington D.C. this year to push key legislation from the FOP with representatives and senators from Tennessee.

A message from theVice PresidentGreetings Brothers and Sisters,My name is Lt. Harold Burke and have been a police officer with MNPD for over 20 years. Currently, I am assigned to patrol at Central Precinct. I have been a member of the Fraternal Order of Police since graduating the academy in 1998. I have been an active member for the past six years. During this time, I have held the office of conductor, trustee, and treasurer. Today, I hold the office of Vice President. One of the committees I am part of is the Caring Police Respond (CPR) program. This program is entirely funded through private donations. The program is designed to help the community that you come in contact with every day and who need help—such as lodging for stranded travelers, clothing for children and food for families. We recently distributed gift cards to any units in the police department that requested them to help better streamline the process.Last year, your FOP distributed over $36,000 in assistance. Front line officers and supervisors make this program work. If you need to make a request, please use the online CPR Request Form.I encourage you to participate. The FOP is always looking for our members to become more involved. I look forward to serving each of you.Fraternally yours,Harold BurkeVice President
When the old MNPD headquarters building was demolished, the existing FOP memorial was repurposed to the MNPD Training academy. The wall pictured below is the new FOP Memorial. The names of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice will now be honored at both locations.
For too long our government officials have ignored the fact that Nashville is not keeping up with the pace of its own growth. This is the driving factor behind the Nashville FOP’s #DoBetter campaign. Nashville’s not broke but their priorities sure seem to be! Like, follow and share us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.Have content for the DoBettercampaign? Send it to fopconcerns@gmail.com!
Are you tired of these issues with Metro Police cars?• In the garage too long.• Returned from the garage with the same problem.• Riding two, or three, to a car due to fleet shortage.• Excessively high mileage vehicles still in service.• Telling dispatch to put you out at the station waiting on a car.• Any other vehicle issue that prevents you from efficiently performing your duties. The Nashville FOP has heard these concerns and many more. In the coming weeks and months we will be collecting data from the front lines. If you have any issue with a metro vehicle that you feel is not being resolved properly, or have concerns about fleet deficiencies, send an email with vehicle year, decal#, mileage, problem and any other information you feel is important to fopconcerns@gmail.com. Your personal information will be kept completely confidential! We are only tracking data on vehicles to show the deficiencies in our fleet and necessity of updating it. We need your help to get this done.
• The Tennessee state legislature seems poised to step in and create some boundaries that all oversight committees must comply with. We will be watching to see how that unfolds.
