PROJECT INTRODUCTION 01 AIRPORT BAR CHALLENGE To create a universally acceptable space that accomodates a large group of tourists an individual on a business trip and anyone who is waiting for their flight SOLUTION A beer bar does not have to feel any less full of personality and fun than an uptown bistro My approach to bringing Amber Waves to life included A variety of seating options Colors and textures that represent a classic barn and the colors of amber Ambient lighting pleasant to the eye and is nesessary in a tiring aiport environment DURATION 6 weeks F O C U S LIGHTINGDESIGN AMBER WAVES Amber waves is a beer bar that has found its place in the ever shifting environment of an airport In the midst of life s fast pace Amber Waves is a place to slow down and be carried away by the atmosphere and warm welcome of America s heartland

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AIRPORT BAR CHALLENGE To create a universally acceptable space that accomodates a large group of tourists an individual on a business trip and anyone who is waiting for their flight SOLUTION Coffered ceiling and wall insets helped add dimentionality to the space The back bar is made out of recyled cargo boxes which echoes in the use of wood throughout the space to add warmth and bring the rustic atmospere of a barn Backlit amber glass in the wall insets pull together the warm color scheme

PROJECT INTRODUCTION FROGTOWN FARM 02 CHALLENGE To create a universal community center that provides Frogtown visitors with a variety of meeting spaces and educational facilities Frogtown is a very culturally diverse region so the concept of Universal design must be carried throughout the project SOLUTION The reserach began with a site visit and the exploration of Permacultures in farming The concept has been developed with the diversity and the environmental ethics combined The goal for this project is to make everyone feel welcome despite cultural diferences while supporting the natural state of the community farm DURATION 11 weeks F O C U S SUSTAINABILITY FROGTOWN FARM Frogtown Farm is one of the largest urban farms in the country Located in the heart of the diverse Frogtown neighborhood of Saint Paul Minnesota Frogtown Farm is an organic urban demonstration farm that is a destination for those seeking learning innovation reflection and authentic community

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT FROGTOWN FARM THE GREEN HOUSE CHALLENGE Adjacent to the on site daycare Provides education To create a universal community center Connected to a small community that provides Frogtown visitors with a gathering space that could also be used variety of meeting spaces and educational by the employees facilities Frogtown is a very culturally diverse Includes a service elevator that goes down region so the concept of Universal design to the kitchen must be carried throughout the project SOLUTION Frogtown farm is to welcome all and makes the diversity of people the highliht of the environment To achieve that the project includes Collective work creates friendships the building has a green house Variety of gathering spaces and a classroom with a library A day care with a nursery room COMMUNITY GATHERING SPACE Sound absorbing baffled ceiling with additional sculptural details Large windows to capture sunlight Pivoting doors Information desk SUSTAINABILITY Rainwater collection Sustainable interior building materials Natural heating and cooling Green roof

PROJECT INTRODUCTION 03 SENIOR CARE CHALLENGE To create a set of construction documents in Revit The given floorplan is a wearhouse that was challenged to become a modern senior care center SOLUTION The space requirements include placing ADA bathrooms changing area gathering spaces front desk exercise room kitchen dining area medical therapy room and employee areas DURATION 6 weeks F O C U S DOCUMENT SETS

PROJECT INTRODUCTION TONIQUE 04 CHALLENGE Design the men s cologne and skin care store while exploring the concept of Universal design For this project teamed up interior designer graphic designer and web designer SOLUTION The masculinity of the scents revealed the concept phrase to be carried throughout So fresh and invigorating it ll bring out your inner gentleman TONIQUE Tonique is famous for bringing to life the nostalgic scents from what seems to be the past The colognes have a dominant strong and memorable signature and that note started the project off with the phrase DURATION 11 weeks Aged but refined F O C U S COMMERCIAL DESIGN All the graphic design content in this project including logo and merchandise images has been created by Sarah Lerum the graphic designer
