SYNOPSISAn eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-afrming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.SONGSThe 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling BeeThe Spelling Rules/My Favorite Moment of the BeeMy Friend, the DictionaryThe First GoodbyePandemoniumI’m Not That SmartThe Second GoodbyeMagic FootPandemonium (Reprise)/My Favorite Moment of the Bee 2Why We Like SpellingPrayer of the Comfort Counselor10 MINUTE INTERMISSIONMy Unfortunate Erection (Chip’s Lament)Woe is MeSpelling MontageI’m Not That Smart (Reprise)I Speak Six LanguagesJesusThe I Love You SongWoe is Me (Reprise)My Favorite Moment of the Bee 3/SecondPas De DeuxFinaleThe Last GoodbyeRUNTIME: 90 MINUTESThe videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited.THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEEIs presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
