CLASS VERSE Don t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech in conduct in love in faith and in purity 1Timothy 4 12 SCHOOL YEAR 2018 2019 IN THIS ISSUE Congratulations Class of 2019 Don t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech in conduct in love in faith and in purity 1Timothy 4 12 As I walk the empty halls of Calvary Academy reflecting on God s faithfulness throughout this past school year I am reminded of the events that took place this last month of school From the 8th grade musical to Olympic Day to the 8th grade chapel and then graduation one theme that runs thru each of these happenings is the student s determination to finish strong And not just strong but we encouraged our student to finish what they started with the same enthusiasm and energy as they began That challenge was a lesson in itself The teachers at Calvary did an excellent job creating and exploring different ways to challenge and motivate the students with different projects and learning concepts The students got involved and participated in different events at the school Moses were just a few The best finishers such as Jesus and Paul were productive to the end They knew their purpose and stayed true to it May each of us in whatever God has for us to do stay true to Him never get tired in doing what is good and finish strong For God s blessing will surely be upon us A Charge to the Graduating class Mrs Melvin challenges the Class of 2019 with a few words Continued page 8 8th Grade Stories We celebrate our graduating Class of 2019 with a tribute to them and a testimony of their time at Calvary Academy Continued pages 2 7

teacher that encourages other to draw paint and make art for fun Additionally she wants all people to draw what they want or like as long as it s appropriate All Calvary teachers are my favorites Mrs environment the school provides for the students I love that we have the freedom to talk and learn about God Describe one of your favorite teachers and tell why he she is a favorite My favorite teacher is Mrs Murray Her style of teaching is quick and straight to the point while still being enjoyable She is one of the more relaxed teachers and easy to get along with She is humorous in her interactions with students but serious at the same time In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at Calvary I ve grown in my spiritual knowledge and now I have a closer relationship with God I ve also learned how to defend my faith What advice do you have for Calvary students The advice I would give students would be to focus and work hard Also I would tell them to teacher is Mr Cameron The first day I met Mr Cameron I liked him from the start mainly because he was a Cubs fan Now I like him for his energy his wit and his involvement in our everyday school life MAY 2019 Issue 17 8 Farewell Chapel Calvary Academy held its final chapel for the school year on Friday May 24th The chapel was dedicated to the graduating eighth graders whose moto was God s Team of 29 Teens Chapel included each grade providing a tribute or piece of advice for the graduates along with Academic Scholars receiving awards 8th Grade Academic Scholars for 2019 Chapel ended with a beautiful time of prayer with the 8th grade parents and relatives coming to the front and gathering around the graduates to pray a blessing over them We are so very proud of our 8th Grade Students and know they will go on to accomplish many great things Academic scholars were named for every subject including the arts and P E Each scholar was awarded an academic medal to wear at graduation with their cap and gown Congratulations Literature History Spanish Bible Mathematics Science Computers Band Art Phys Ed Girls Phys Ed Boys Kirstin Smith Myia Williams Jayda Taylor Leah Readus Allyse Foreman Kolin Brannon Eric Vasser Nathaniel Locker Madelyn Ritzema Krista Smith Xavier Campbell God s Team of 29 Teens As you eagerly transition into your new season remember the reason is to make the world a better place and be a bright example of God s grace Know that life s times and tests may often be tough but be sincere and respect authority to persevere Instead of being misled run the race to stay on pace When you are unsure of what to do pray trust wait and anticipate God s voice to make the right choice God will see you through for He has plans to use you Stay on track without looking back and know without the shadow of a doubt that God is working your future out Love and miss you already Mrs Melvin
