Ins pira tion While my group and I research breast cancer events and organizations It was undeniable that we would need to include the color pink and the iconic pink ribbon that is so strongly associated with breast cancer awareness planning ahead Wireframes and scetches were used to plan logistics within our group before designing started

logo design When discussing how we wanted our event to be repersented we all wanted to find a way to incorporate the iconic pink ribbon without being too clich To do this we made the traditional ribbon more specific to our event by making it rope with a caribeaner We knew we had to have pink in our pallette so we expieremented with the two different tones but ultimately choose to go with the darker pink since we are promoting an upbeat empowering event

Initial comps During the begining phases of our website design we wanted to make sure we had the best design possible so we all created comps had them critiqued than collaborated with one an other to create our final website Critique Some critiques from this set of comps was the disconnect from desktop to mobile designs So we want to make sure we only change a few things between platform designs It was also brought to our attention that the image didn t give the audience a real sense for this hieght defying event so maybe using it for an interior page would be better than the homepage

Critique These set of comps had the same critique as the last about the image ot fitting the event as well The way the logo was incorporated was enjoyed by the audiance but they wanted to see a version with the extended version of the logo as well Critique This image was the most enjoyed by the audience but the overall feel of these comps was very washed out and muted

Trial Error Our quick fix to making the last set of comps less muted was to add a darker third color However this color was only suppossed to be a secondary color but once it was coded we realized it became prodominate and pushed our calls to action below the fold So we started to explore other solutions

Imagery Eventually we realized it was the image that was making our designs so muted so we started searching for new images We wanted a way to use different images on our website email mailer and poster but still have a conclusive feel so they all seem like they re from the same event To do this we started collecting images as a group and editting them to have matching helmets with our logos

Poster comps Designing the poster was no easy task we have more rounds of edits on our our poster design than anything else The first round of comps for our poster had the same issue as our website with being too muted and a little disconnected from the website

Final poster design The final poster design came fairly easily after we started working with more images In order to get the same effect of the buiding fading into the fog from the previous image we put a white gradient over this new image

Mailer Comps Our mailer designs also took a lot of collaboration within our group because we wanted it to really grab someones attention fast but we needed to make sure all the information we needed was on there as well Critique As a group we decided the stripes were too off brand since they weren t used anywhere else we also all agreed these first comps weren t exactly exciting so we did an other round of comps

Page 30

Critique These comps were made in hopes of being more connected to the website and poster but once the poster and website started using different imagery we started exploring different backgrounds for our mailers as well Critique Throughout our last round of comps we really liked having a full size image on the front and a minimal design on the back Through critique we choose to continue with the top right comp

email comps Emails are great because they allow you to reach numerous people all at once However it limits your design since majority of people won t coninue scrolling through an email Therefore we choose to keep all the content of our email above the fold Critique Similiarly to our mailer comps these were considered off brand and we created an other round of comps for the email
