Growing up in Dallas, Texas, I always had an insatiable sweet tooth. I lived for nostalgic indulgences like my aunt’s lemon pie, my mother’s rainbow sherbet Sprite oats, my grandmother’s mile high tries, and Texan delicacies like Blue Bell ice cream. My dessert inspiration is still deeply rooted in classic Southern decadence. I’ll never be too fancy for a fried apple pie. Though I always enjoyed baking, I became absolutely ob-sessed at 16. I would bake for anyone who would let me. No occasion was too small for me to justify building a dramatic 3-tier cake.After graduating from Johnson and Wales with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, I was able to immerse myself in the food culture of Providence, Rhode Island, where I worked with and grew to love some incredibly talented and inspir-ing chefs. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to continue my education, taking sugar art classes whenever possible, each time falling more in love with the craft. Moving to a quiet, country life in Woodbury, Connecticut has allowed me to focus on my passion for teaching and for wedding cake design. Helping others discover a love of bak-ing and sugar ower artistry is my greatest love, but I will never tire of being a part of someone’s sweetest day.
