Fine Arts Music S T E A M Puppet Theatre Children will use a variety of puppets to create a puppet theatre Oral communication skills will be expanded while creating puppetry productions Identification of story elements of characters setting and plot will be discussed Kids will be able to use pictures from story books to make inferences Art Art More Art Process art is a contemporary artistic movement that emphasizes the process of making art and the experience children have while they re creating Children learn to express their preferences in a respectful way they understand the end product doesn t have to be great because it isn t the focus of process art Children learn through play and open ended activities It allows them the chance to explore the world around them ask questions and see how things work Process art fits in with how children learn because it allows them room to be themselves make their own decisions and just create Shake Rattle and Roll will play a variety of rhythm instruments as they learn general music basics they will learn to play a steady beat learn to follow musical score and when to playat the appropriate time Strike up the Band Instructor based class additional fees may apply This is a developmental program of singing moving listening creating playing instruments and responding to visual and verbal representations of sound MagKids will have the opportunity to master a variety of skills while moving and grooving to the music Children will learn to play traditional instruments in beginning band to include rhythm sticks jingle wraps brass cymbals maracas hand castanets tambourine sticks shakers woodwind instruments up to and including drums etc Fitness Health A Hop Skip and a Jump Children are introduced to a variety of games This exploration allows children to a variety of fair and fun ways to establish playing order Learn rules while participating safely in physical education activities demonstrate awareness of personal space to self and others in word and actions Travel in different directions using a variety of locomotor movements showing abilities to start and stop name and perform simple stretches and exercises catch a self bounced or tossed ball etc March Aerobics Early Fitness Education 30 45 minute twice weekly classes This exploration will introduce kids to the basic techniques of exercising in short easy to follow routines done to hip beats and fun music Children will learn to name and perform simple stretches and exercise moves Also included will be instruction in various types of Aerobic conditioning through HBCU Marching Band style Creative Steps Movements w Charismatic Dance Studio Preschool Daycare Mobile Program Charismatic Dance Studio is a new dance studio located in your community The company provides a foundation that helps young dancers from the inside out while focusing on building their confidence self esteem and independence through the creative art of dancing In this class students will be introduced to technique and vocabulary with an emphasis on confidence and enjoyment It also consists of ballet warm up tumbling and a dance routine to help with coordination Instructor based class additional fees apply

SKILL REINFORCEMNT S O S Reading Math This is for those children school aged elementary homeschooled needing extra time and reinforcement with basic math and reading skills Children will be participating in hands on activities that will engage them in the practice of these skills Use of manipulatives will allow concrete understanding and reinforcement of concepts Reading fundamentals phonics sight words and decoding skills are just a few of the programs Much of the practice will use technology as a tool for reinforcement Award Reading Read Naturally will be the model used to revisit introduce phonics skills and decoding There will be fluency and comprehension practice as well as basic math computational skills based on child s needs Run the Race Accelerated Reading and Math Fast Track accelerated reading and math program that has an integrative approach to learning great for parents that would like their children to advance to a higher targeted skill that will promote educational success ADD SUBTRACT MULTIPLY DIVIDE Children will use technology software and manipulatives to review and memorize those addition subtraction multiplication and division facts Speed drills are practiced SCIENCE S T E A M Watch Me Grow Physical Focusing on the role of children Their physical growth as human beings what makes me grow What does our body need to grow Primary health standards are introduced that promotes healthy snacks and spending time outside to extend physical fitness Group activities such as exploration walks of nature practiced eating making healthy snacks Earth Children will plant a vegetable plant garden on a designated area at the learning center Plants in the food web heat light and the elements Children will improve their ability to observe and predict the outcome of the garden outcome Probing and open ended questions will be asked to allow students to freely express themselves ENGINEERING S T E A M ROBOTICS Naturally children are inclined to build and problem solve In this exploration children will arrange building materials in an inviting way Through the use of different building materials they will create and build to explore and try new things Teachers will ask open ended questions along the way to extend and stretch their creative thinking during the process

BOOK COOKS Order UP Bi weekly explorer Our young chefs cook up fun recipes for each letter of the alphabet inspired by favorite children s books All readings are organized into tasty yummy themes the learning will include creative art projects related songs and poems writing graphing and measuring coloring sheets children will learn basic fractions such as a whole half third quarter Students will be given cook book sheets that will include all the yummy recipes Computer Literacy Program S T E A M Software City Introduces students to use basic learning programs that support basic reinforcement academic skills access monitored and approved websites subscribed by the center and use Multi media CD ROMS to learn math and reading in a fun clickable way Keyboard Tap Dance Keyboard awareness is introduced This level introduces technology as a cross curricular tool for communication as well as for simplification of basic keyboarding skills Children will be expected to listen and follow simple directions recognize a variety of technology tools and be able to locate numbers letters and symbols on the keyboard Children will learn basic computer functions and keyboarding prep We will use the keyboard through a systematic approach using both Apple Mac Computers and Alpha Smarts Alpha Smarts would be available for order during winter program EVERYDAY LEARNING SOCIAL CITIZENSHIP Life Skills children will discuss the week s life skill focus As part of our preschool curriculum teachers will integrate the direct teaching of life skills into daily the students daily routines within their classrooms The Life Skills curriculum is comprised of a list of social behavioral and communication skills that will help children develop all of the prerequisite skills needed in order to be great friends students and citizens MATH M M YUMMY Learning math using manipulatives games and online resources to reinforce basic math skills Children practice number recognition identifying basic shapes counting order through rote and objects through songs and numerous hands on math activities These skill also provides a good foundation in math problem solving LiteracyReading Rabbits Reading skills are taught and reinforced through basic fundamentals of alphabet recognition and phonics Sight words decoding skills and no nonsense word drills are practiced There are various printed and online support literacy products that are utilized to achieve the outcome of our kids being great readers or on the road to Reading Stardom WRITING Young Writers children are encouraged to develop their writing skills daily through tracing coloring and the use of manipulatives Children learn to hold writing materials correctly Writing boards practice worksheets are used daily to enhance recognition of letters numbers and children s names
