Canaan Baptist Church, established in April 1908, is a Word and Christ centered fellowship providing worship, holistic care, and nurture to its family members. Canaan seeks to share the Full Gospel of Jesus Christ to meet the needs of people in the local and broader community.Canaan Baptist Church GEM ENDOWMENTSince our beginning, Canaan has been a foundation in our community and instrumental in leading generations of families to Christ. Through Christ’s blessings and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we continue to be productive in mission, evangelism and stewardship. In order for us to continue to fulfill our mission for generations to come, we welcome your partnership.The GEM ENDOWMENT was established in 2017 to provide by ministering to the needs of people within and outside the Church. It is comprised of three distinct funds:Mission FundYouth FundWorship FundThese funds do not take the place of the general budget or other giving initiatives for the operation of the Church or current ministries.2
Canaan is actively involved in local and international outreach. As we engage with communities at home and across the world to share the love of Jesus Christ, our Mission Fund provides support for several areas, including:• Initiatives that reduce poverty in 19144 zip code and surrounding communities• Programs that strengthen the community, one family at a time• Partnerships in Job Training and Business Development• Partnerships with International Ministries that provide education and life sustaining resourcesMission Fund4“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 19:17
