KEYNOTE 9 MR CHRIS KISER DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE CAREER READINESS PALESTINE ISD Mr Chris Kiser Director of College Career Readiness from Palestine Independent School District Mr Kiser is currently in his twenty third year in education 10 as a teacher coach and 13 as an administrator He shares his philosophy that schools share a huge responsibility in maintaining the values of a community while at the same time ensuring its students are gaining the knowledge and skills necessary for Life in the Real World At PISD they have made College and Career Readiness a priority across the district This relatively small rural school district expects to enroll over 215 students in college classes and have set a goal of 205 students earning industry recognized certifications licenses during the 2017 2018 school year They are proud to say that PISD students are College and Career Ready Shannon Mantrom is Executive Director of Leap to Success the signature program of Launch Pad Job Club in Austin TX The program offers pro bono professional projects assistance to Austin and Central Texas nonprofit organizations Since it s founding in 2012 Leap to Success has delivered over 115 projects to more than 100 nonprofits totaling over 500K in services The program won the 2013 Nonprofit Advocate award from PeopleFund and in 2017 won the Nonprofit of the Year award by the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce Shannon s background is 20 years in sales and event coordination with time off to raise to amazing daughters and it is Shannon and her Leap to Success team who coordinate the annual Launch Pad Job Club Employment Expo the club s annual fundraiser and service to its membership held each September SHANNON MANTROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR LEAP TO SUCCESS ISSUE 7 SPRING 2018
