Presidents Letter SINCE 1956 Thank you for joining the Coating Society of the Houston Area at one of our most important events of the year This is a great time for people involved in all aspects of the coatings industry to come together to connect and celebrate our industry This trade show continues to grow each year because of the wonderful members and volunteers we have dedicated to helping promote this industry I want to thank all of our committees and members for their outstanding effort to help promote the society and raise funds for educational scholarships throughout this past year Joining the Coating Society of the Houston Area has been an extremely rewarding opportunity for me I have found a group of caring friends and colleagues that have been there in the good times and the bad I have been honored to be elected to the Executive Board of Directors and now as President lead the first ever all female Executive Board of Directors in the history of the society I encourage you to join this great organization If you are looking for leadership opportunities want to increase your network of leading coatings professionals in the area or want an opportunity to give back to the industry the Coating Society of the Houston Area is for you Sincerely Meghan Leyva President Coating Society of the Houston Area NACE International

About the Coating Society of the Houston Area Who We Are The members of the Coating Society of the Houston Area include persons and companies in southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana involved in corrosion mitigation Membership consists of end users applicators inspectors manufacturers and suppliers What We Do The primary objectives of the Coating Society of the Houston Area are as follows Advance members knowledge of surface preparation selection of coatings and coating systems and application of protective coatings through discussions and planned programs Act as a conduit for interchanging ideas experiences and state of the art practices for preventing corrosion Promote understanding by users suppliers and contractors of their mutual problems How We Do It The Coating Society holds regular meetings on the first Thursday of each month of the year except June July and August These meetings are open to the public and we encourage anyone with interest in coatings or related products and services to attend Currently the meetings are held at Brady s Landing in Houston TX with a social gathering at 6 00 p m and the meeting with dinner begins at 6 45 p m The Coating Society of the Houston Area also sponsors a golf tournament trade show and a painters competition every spring At the end of the year the society has a Christmas party where proceeds from the year are distributed to local candidates in the form of scholarships
