RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES Hope House exists to improve the lives of children and adults with co occurring autism intellectual disabilities and mental health needs All homes offer around the clock care therapeutic services and life skills training Homes are located in the communities of El Monte Monrovia and Baldwin Park Children A day of hiking Hope House History In 1963 a group of progressive parents and community leaders had a vision to create a place where the special needs of children with multiple disabilities could be met in a loving home like environment They believed their children deserved quality care education and the same opportunities in life as everyone else to become visible and active members of the community where they lived and attended school Hope House Today Today more than 55 years later the Hope House team is truly dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with co occurring autism intellectual and mental health needs This is not a passive commitment but one that requires a daily adherence to our values and the belief that every person learns every minute every day We engage and connect with our residents continuously to provide a safe and nurturing living environment in which to build opportunities of Discovery Choice and Self Determination Hope House continues to lead the growing movement of families and advocates committed to advancing the rights of people with autism intellectual disabilities and mental health needs driven by a belief that all people lead their own lives with independence and dignity Hope House helps 15 children with developmental disabilities mental health and behavior challenges s Halifax and Redstone Homes each help four children with autism and mental health issues Holiday and Park Homes each help three children dually diagnosed with developmental and mental health disorders MaryJo Home to open May June 2019 will help four children lacking hazard awareness and impulse control _____________________________________________ My autistic son was terribly isolated from peers and the local community before moving to Hope House Today my husband and I are moved to tears when we see how comfortable and relaxed our son is in his new home with his housemates He loves the Ranchito Home The program is all about empowering the individual residents to be independent in every way possible Hope House Parent Adults The Wyland Fairgreen and Mildred Homes each help four adults with severe intellectual disabilities and co occurring mental health needs The Ranchito Cedar and Schmidt Homes each help six adults with developmental disabilities complicated by epilepsy blindness autism schizophrenia and physical disabilities with significant health care needs RESPITE REACHOUT In Home services that assists families in the San Gabriel Valley by providing temporary relief or care for families caring for a loved one with an intellectual and developmental disability at home Therapeutic Services and Consultation Occupational Therapy Physical Therapy Mental Health Counseling Nursing Medical Specialties Dietary Management Developmental Therapy Recreation and Leisure Therapy Speech and Language Therapy Positive Behavior Support
