We're glad you're here! The purpose of Action Based Learning in your school is to enhance the livesof children by improving their health, education, and wellness through movement. This whole childapproach makes significant, positive impacts and improvements for the "3L" students - LOST in theschool system, LAST in line for school activities, or LEAST likely to succeed. Our primary objective (what we do) is to make good schools great and help underperforming schoolsbecome great! With consistent practice, Action Based Learning fills developmental gaps for better-performing academics. Practicing purposeful and brain-compatible movements helps educatorsdevelop more engaged students who are attentive, well-behaved, and test higher.ABL takes a direct and multipurpose three-prong approach for success:Various types of training events tailored for your school district or individual schoolIntellectual support and guidance materialsABL Labs, classroom furniture, and equipmentThe whole-child approach focuses on the 12 Foundations of Learning Readiness. These include, forexample, cross-lateralization - activities designed to cross the midline of your brain to enhancelearning. If a child can't crawl properly, he will struggle with reading comprehension. Other learningfoundations include Visual Development (encoding symbols), Balance (spatial orientation), Body inSpace (vestibular activities), Motor Skills (locomotor and non-locomotor), Eye-Hand/Eye-FootCoordination, and other purposeful movements supporting the brain-body connection.WELCOME TO ABL!SERVE THE LAST LEAST LOST ..... ABL concepts are founded and based upon brain research that supports the link of purposeful movementsand physical activity to increased academic performances. Brain sciences strongly supports the link ofmovement to learning. The brain and body’s movements and learning systems are interdependant and interactive. For example, the body’s vestibular system controls balance and spatial awareness and facilitates the student’s abilityto place words and letters on a page. The proper development, enrichment, and remediation of thebody-brain systems are critical for a student’s ability to learn.Action Based Learning trainings evolved on the basis of these studies that validated the effectiveness; Itsignificantly improves physical, mental, and emotional health of students, empowering them to focus, absorb, and assimilate more efficiently. Movement allows students to engage the brain and bodysimultaneously, which improves concentration and learning capacity. Recent studies prove that specificmovements integrated into the learning process significantly improve students’ span of interest andconcentration. Children involved in Action Based Learning are getting higher test scores and grades thanchildren who do not move regularly.Action Based Learning Master Trainers offer professional development workshops, on-site at your school. Each workshop is 3-6 hours and introduces the purpose of Action Based Learning and how to implementin your classroom.
