Page 4 Achievement At Traill we have highly qualified and experienced staff trained to teach the British National Curriculum whilst maintaining a child centred approach We plan lessons rigorously with focused learning objectives which may be skills or knowledge based Lessons are planned to accommodate individual learning abilities and prior learning We work with the children individually to set targets for development so your children will always be aware of the next steps in their learning Our curriculum takes the Primary National Framework and shapes it into an integrated thematic curriculum which links to the wider world of work life skills and learning outside the classroom It is made up of 54 themed units with 9 units available for each year group Units are taught over about 4 weeks and will cross subjects so that children can transfer their learning from one subject to another Success Happy children become successful confident children Fundamental to this is not only the nurturing support provided by our teachers and teaching assistants but also the partnership between the parents and school You are warmly welcomed to participate in celebration assemblies sports days the parent and teacher association open days and workshops You are welcome to speak to staff about any issues
