Onsite Activities Our activities are designed to encourage specific outcomes in your students whilst making memories they ll never forget Teamwork Cohesion Learn a New Skill Build Resilience Self Confidence All sessions listed last 3hr15 minutes either as a standalone activity or a paired session LOW ROPES PROBLEM SOLVING Designed to encourage problem solving teamwork balance and communication Our low ropes course with mini zip is a great activity for building confidence Participants will support their peers by spotting each other Teamed up with problem solving the activity group will develop this skills further Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge ARCHERY ONSITE ORIENTEERING Learn to shoot an arrow in the style of an Olympic archer using a modern recurve bow Practise and play some games to hone your skills Learn and refine map reading skills including using keys finding checkpoints and orientating the map Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge GAME OF TRIBES Gather your tribe together for a map based challenge around the Mount Cook site Problem solving code cracking and engineering will abound in the partcipants quest to outsmart the Roman Invaders Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge 6

LEARN A NEW SKILL A trip to Mount Cook is the perfect opportunity to try a new activity and even develop a new passion Developing a new skill like bushcraft or archery can increase fine motor skills and dexerity ARCHERY TAG MAZE CUBE There is teamwork and competition to be had in this high energy game of Tag Archery participants will work out the best strategy for defeating their opponents The Maze Cube will require the team to work together to transport balls around a floating maze communication will be key Ages 9 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge BUSHCRAFT Discover how people survived in the past Learn to light a fire without matches experience the materials our ancestors used to create life saving heat and light Build a shelter and create a cord bracelet to take home using natural fibres Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge ORIENTEERING AT BLACK ROCKS A great opportunity to learn how to read and follow a map as well as exploring the local area Instructors will stop to talk about history nature and respecting the area we are exploring Students will be encouraged to use check points tick points and orientate the map independently Ages 9 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge 7

RESILIENCE SELF CONFIDENCE Trying a new activity and challenging themselves in a safe controlled environment is a great way to build up students perserverance and self confidence INDOOR CLIMBING LANDKARTS Lots of routes to explore in our purposebuilt climbing wall Participants will harness the skills learnt to help them move up the wall to find their top Using just rope wood and wheels teams will design and build their own working landkart Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge ONSITE ROCK CLIMBING ABSEILING Our rock face and abseil point offers the group a new experience and individual challenge on natural limestone During the climb the group will take part in belaying and tying knots Group support will be vital and teamwork will be the key to success Ages 9 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge ONSITE ROCK CLIMBING SCRAMBLING The group will venture up and around rocks in this new activity for Mount Cook They will encourage each other and face new experiences Scrambling will take place around Black Rocks a 10 minute walk from the centre Ages 9 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge 9

HIGH ROPES Weight restrictions max 100kg for leap of faith Our 12 metre tall High Ropes course which includes 5 different elements The Leap of Faith Crate Stack Caving Ladders Jacob s Ladder and Gladiator Challenge The high ropes course will challenge your group to keep each other safe set their own goals and work together to reach new heights Ages 9 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge Definitely will be coming again really can t rate Mount Cook highly enough Snarestone Primary School 2022 ZIP WIRE TRAVERSE CUBE Weight restrictions min 20kg max 116kg Our Rooftop Rider Zip Wire starts 15 metres off the ground on the roof of the centre and finishes on the far side of Steeple Grange quarry Guests can expect to reach speeds of up to 35 mph The traverse cube involves a horizontal peg wall with additional obstacles introduced throughout Ages 9 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge 10

Activities are run at the following locations Carsington Water Cromford Canal Matlock Bath Black Rocks RAFT BUILDING Raft building is a superb team building activity Groups are required to work as a team to input design ideas form a plan and create a buoyant raft using a selection of materials which include rope wooden planks and polythene barrels Ages 6 Requires transport CAVING Derbyshire and the Peak District offers a wide range of caving opportunities for people of all ages and abilities Your group will be taken on an underground experience unique to our local area due to our rich history of metal and stone mining Ages 6 Requires transport CANOEING Canoeing is a perfect way to enhance confidence on the water in a safe and controlled environment We use open top canoes that can seat up to four pupils encouraging group based learning as well as improving individual skills Ages 6 Requires transport ROCK CLIMBING ABSEILING You will be taught by highly trained instructors how to put on a harness tie climbing knots and abseil down a rock face safely Black Rocks climbing area is just a 10 minute walk from the centre Ages 6 Does not require transport Acclimbatize provide all specialist equipment for offsite activities For more information on safety and accreditations go to www acclimbatize co uk 12

EVENING ACTIVITIES Wind down after dinner with an evening activity Evening activities can take place in larger groups and usually run from 19 00 20 30 and they are all suitable for children over 6 years old TEAM CHALLENGES During these fun team challenges all groups will practise their skills of planning coordination and communication throughout several group tasks Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge BUSHCRAFT CAMPFIRE Get cosy in the evening by surrounding the campfire in the dell or the woodland round house The group will learn and practise traditional and modern fire lighting methods Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge ROCKET BUILDING Science and teamwork are required as participants design build and present a group rocket Each group will use the materials available and attempt to create a rocket which will fly high Ages 6 Communication Skills Knowledge Individual challenge Physical challenge 13
