Participants willharness the skills learnt to help them move upthe wall to find ‘their top’.Using just rope, wood, and wheels teams willdesign and build their own working landkart. Ages 6 +ORIENTEERING ATBLACK ROCKSLearn how to read and follow a map as well asexploring the local area. Instructors will stop totalk about history, nature and respecting thearea we are exploring. Students will be encouraged to use check points,tick points, and orientate the map independently. During the climb, the group will take part in belayingand tying knots. Group support will be vital, andteamwork will be the key to success. Ages 9 +Our Rooftop Rider Zip Wire starts 15 metres off theground on the roof of the centre and finishes on thefar side of Steeple Grange quarry. Guests can expectto reach speeds of up to 35 mph. The traverse cube involves a horizontal peg wall withadditional obstacles introduced throughout.ZIP WIRE &TRAVERSE CUBE Ages 9 + Weight restrictions:min 20kg - max 116kgBUSHCRAFTDiscover how people survived in the past. Ages 6 +FOSSIL HUNTING& GEM PANNING10VIA FERRATAThe Via Ferrata is an exciting new addition to our site.Traverse across a quarry and a variety of obstaclesusing handholds, footholds and limestone rock.Develop problem solving skills under pressure whilstsupporting your group in their own attempts. Ages 9 +ONSITE ROCK CLIMBING& SCRAMBLINGScrambling is an on the rocks adventure at BlackRocks, about a 10 minute walk away from thecentre along the High Peak Trail.Then, climbing on real limestone, the group willtake part in belaying and tying knots. Ages 9 +ARCHERY & ONSITEORIENTEERINGLearn to shoot an arrow in the style of an Olympicarcher using a modern recurve bow. Practise andplay some games to hone your skills.Learn and refine map reading skills including usingkeys, finding checkpoints and orientating the map. Ages 6 +

RAFT BUILDING CAVINGCANOEING ROCK CLIMBING& ABSEILINGRaft building is a superb team buildingactivity! Groups are required to work as ateam to input design ideas, form a planand create a buoyant raft using aselection of materials which include: rope,wooden planks and polythene barrels.Canoeing is a perfect way to enhanceconfidence on the water in a safe andcontrolled environment. We use open topcanoes that can seat up to four pupils,encouraging group based learning as wellas improving individual skills.You will be taught by highly trainedinstructors how to put on a harness, tieclimbing knots and abseil down a rockface safely. Black Rocks climbing area isjust a 10 minute walk from the centre.Derbyshire and the Peak District offers awide range of caving opportunities forpeople of all ages and abilities. Eveningactivities can take place in larger groups and usually runfrom 19:00 - 20:30, and they are all suitable for childrenover 6 years old.TEAM CHALLENGESDuring these fun team challenges all groupswill practise their skills of planning,coordination, and communicationthroughout several group tasks. BUSHCRAFT &CAMPFIREROCKET BUILDINGScience and teamwork are required as participantsdesign, build and present a group rocket. Each group will use the materials available andattempt to create a rocket which will fly high. Ages 6 +Get cosy in the evening by surrounding thecampfire in the dell or the woodland roundhouse. We allocate teacher rooms on corridors with their students. Teacherscan choose which rooms they would prefer.
