Independent Distribution Collective presents our 74th Solicitation just in time for Summer placement (our 5th of 2016). Anthony B - Tears of Luv CD
Anthony B's most recent album, featuring the singles "Mau Mau Warrior" and the combination with Sizzla and Capleton "Best of the Best," both of which have been received well at radio and by fans. In June, 2016 a playful, animated video for "Best of the Best" directed by Hermes Mangialardo was released through Reggaeville’s You Tube channel and has received over 150,000 views to date. Anthony B returns to the US for a headline appearance to close Reggae on the River in Humboldt, CA following a string of worldwide festival appearances.

Cure for Gravity finds comfort in playing to a rare world and it’s listening inhabitants. The trio of Joe Markert (lead vocals, keys, guitar), Chris Gamper (drums and percussion), & Dave Walcott (Lead Guitar) deliver an entrancing amalgam of atmospheric synth/alt rock that is cinematic in nature. They use an eclectic blend of electronic and live elements to untether you from this world and transport you into the audio landscape of their own design. At times they invoke the Cars or Pink Floyd, but with a fast forward taste of more recent groups like Radiohead, God is an Astronaut, and The National.

Kat Gang - Love And The Lack Thereof CD
A beautifully crafted and passionate example of some of the best vocal jazz available today. The album features Kat Gang’s romantic, sly, and swinging take on lesser-known gems from the American Songbook, from the Lerner and Lane classic “My Shining Hour” to the bittersweet “Nobody’s Heart (Belongs To Me)” by Rodgers and Hart. The musicianship here is outstanding, with Mike Renzi leading the way as pianist/arranger alongside Jay Leonhart on bass and Buddy Williams on drums. Guest appearances by Harry Allen on saxophone and Warren Vache on flugelhorn add spirit and depth. Kat has gained many accolades and awards, and can be seen and heard regularly, performing with her quartet in and around the vibrant city of New York.

A thieves' dozen of the best punk/ doo wop songs you can find. From the pulse pounding Dion influenced opening track, It Happened Last Night, to the wry wit of lead single Too Pretty For Prison, through to the driving dance of closing track The Doo Wop Song, the Privates grab you by, well, the privates, and don't let go. This EP is a musical collaboration written by Carlton Bost, Bobby Amaro, Nic Speck, Creighton Emrick and Jay Gordon. The new sound for ORGY has great lyrics, melodies, and heavy guitars. ORGY is featured in Runway Magazine’s spring issue and is touring the USA in major markets throughout 2015 and 2016.

A longstanding member of the Santana band, Bill Ortiz is proud to present his full-length release titled Highest Wish. A follow up to his “Winter in America” EP released earlier that year, this album project features conscious emcees such as Casual, The Grouch, Zumbi (Zion I) and K-Maxx, as well as fellow Santana member (and 11 time Grammy® Award Winner) Tony Lindsey, and iconic poet vocalist Linda Tillery, featured on a spoken word performance of Dr. Martin Luther King's Nobel Peace Prize speech. “Carlos has always used music to inspire and bring people together,” explains Ortiz. “I try to follow in that tradition. I’ve been really inspired by some of the Bay Area hip-hop artists like Casual, Zumbi and the Grouch.
Mickey Hart Band - Mysterium Tremendum CD TSP#0101 IDC#0478
On Mysterium Tremendum, The Mickey Hart Band consists of Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools, Grammy winning percussionist and longtime band mate Sikiru Adepoju, Tony Award winning vocalist Crystal Monee Hall, singer Tim Hockenberry, drummer Ian "Inx" Herman, guitarist Gawain Matthews, and keyboardist / producer, Ben Yonas. Mysterium Tremendum will be released by Hart's own 360° Productions. The album, recorded at Hart's Studio X in Sonoma County, CA, was co-produced by Hart and Ben Yonas. Special guests Steve Kimock, Reed Mathis appear on select tracks as well as long time collaborators, Zakir Hussain, and Giovanni Hidalgo.
