CLOSING SESSION Processing Resources CLOSING SESSION Goal itrek participants will make the Israel Trek relevant to their lives After an immersive Israel Trek participants gain valuable insights from a dedicated session that assists them in organizing their experiences connecting the dots and providing closure to their overall journey Simultaneously this closing session is a powerful tool for you as Leaders and educators to maximize the impact of the Israel Trek It presents an opportunity to establish a lasting group narrative and encourage participants to provide feedback enabling valuable insights and continuous improvement for future Israel Treks By shifting the focus to the post Israel Trek period you evaluate the significance of the experience on the participants lives and further enhance the long term outcomes of the Israel Trek 1

CLOSING SESSION Preparation Have a quiet pleasant location Set aside about an hour for reflection Divide roles before the conversation starts so everyone knows who is leading what Introduction Go over the itinerary to freshen everyone s memory Some fun options for doing it are Challenge participants to recall the Israel Trek itinerary from memory Ask trivia questions about it Write the itinerary components on paper and let the participants choose what they liked most Have an Itinerary duel where two volunteers try to remember what you did on a specific day by shooting activities at each other This is the end of the Israel Trek and everyone is exhausted so be creative and make it fun Plan in advance how you explain these activities clearly and concisely 2

CLOSING SESSION Reflection Ask participants to share one gain positive experience and one pain something to improve from the Israel Trek Ask participants to share a picture they took on the Israel Trek and tell the story behind it LIPASRTCAETCNITIVNICEGE Everyone should have a chance to speak Small groups allow all the participants to express themselves Ask participants to come up with one word that describes the experience they had the best and explain why they chose it Ask participants to share something they are taking home from Israel and something they came with and are leaving behind A closing session should finish with a group circle Make sure one of you start the reflection to set a positive tone at the end of the Israel Trek 3
