COMPLEXITY PROCESSING SESSION Processing Resources COMPLEXITY PROCESSING SESSION Goal itrek participants will make the visit relevant to their lives This session is an invitation to reflect on and process experiences that left the participants emotionally charged As a Leader it gives you a valuable tool to keep the group on track by allowing your participants to express themselves decompress their feelings contextualize the experience and make it relevant to their lives Starting off Prompts A fruitful discussion starts with a prompt a question a reflection a text an image or a short activity This is a great way to make processing meaningful and interesting It also helps the participants reflect on their experience before discussing and formulating an opinion on it Next you will find a variety of prompts to choose from The prompts are designed to launch a discussion that s more than just describing the facts It is meant to make the experience you just had relevant to the participants by discussing its meaning to them A Ask participants to share one item object story or figure that captured their attention moved them or intrigued them during the Israel Trek and ask them to explain why 1
COMPLEXITY PROCESSING SESSION B Ask participants to share one question thought or insight they had during the Israel Trek C Ask participants to express their experience in writing or write to a family member a friend or a partner about their experience It can be an email a post a poem a short story or just a reflection Asking them to sit apart give them 10 15 min for this activity Then ask them to share what they wrote with the group D Ask participants to share one picture they took or wanted to take during the Israel Trek Then ask them why they took it and what it means to them There s neither time nor a need to practice all the prompts during a processing session Choose only one or two according to your group s time and level of interest Some people are more comfortable sharing in a small group It is recommended to start in small groups and then have the discussion all together For more prompts scan the QR code 2
