Our students reach their highest potential by having the opportunity to customize their course load; ensuring they are both supported and challenged at every level.COLLEGE PREPARATORY PROGRAMSACADEMIC Courses in the Academic level are structured and focus on essential skills. The goal is to develop independent thinkers who take initiative, think critically, respond creatively and apply what is learned to the world around them. Review of foundational skills and strategies occur with an emphasis on movement towards conceptual and abstract thinking. Academic level classes expect students to be active participants in the learning process such that students seek assistance with learning and assignments.HONORS Courses in the Honors level require students to take initiative, think critically, problem solve, and apply learned concepts at a deeper level. The focus is on application, analysis and synthesis.ADVANCED PLACEMENT AP courses align with the College Board curriculum. Upon successful completion of the AP College Board Exam at the end of the course, a score of 3 or higher may result in college credit.DUAL CREDITS The Dual Credit Program provides students an opportunity to earn both high school and college credit upon successful completion of a college course. All dual credit courses are college-level and will be listed on an ocial college transcript. The college courses are transferable to higher education institutions. Our Dual Credit Program lets juniors and seniors take select college courses during the school day, earning college credit while fulfilling high school graduation requirements.Marcellin Program The Marcellin Program provides additional academic support for college-prep curriculum to students who are still developing their academic and executive functioning skills. Admission to the program is based on results from the entrance exam and junior high performance. Inspired by the founder of the Marist Brothers—St. Marcellin Champagnat— who struggled academically himself, the program provides for diversity in learning needs and the necessary strategies to help each student reach his or her full potential.Learn more about The Marcellin Program.5SMALLER CLASSES | PEER LEADERS | TAILORED INSTRUCTION*Dual-credit courses oered through Saint Xavier University, Benedictine University, and Loyola University Chicagoof students enroll in a 4th year of mathematicsAP Access Award which is given to schools who demonstrate a clear and eective commitment to equitable access to advanced courseworkMarist is recognized as an Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning Silver distinction1295%When I rst started at Marist, I felt pretty lost academically. 6At Marist, relationships matter. We are fortunate to have longstanding partners with numerous businesses, alumni, universities, colleges, junior colleges, trades, and more, that oer additional learning opportunities for students. We look at students as more than just an entrance exam score. We consider their middle school grades and individual situations. We then place students in classes where we believe they will experience the most success. Our teachers then take over and guide students through their learning experience - challenging students, while also providing any needed academic support. –Joy Lewis, Director of Academic Success““4.0 English 4.0 Religious Studies 3.0 Mathematics 3.0 Science 3.0 Social Studies 2.0 World Language 1.5 Physical Education & Health 1.0 Fine Arts, Communication, OR Technology 3.5 Electives25.0 TOTAL CREDITSGraduation Requirements (credits)YOUR ACADEMIC SUCCESS
