2024 Portage Central Invitational | 1Welcome to the 3rd Annual Portage Central Marching Invitational. We are pleased and thankful to have you with us at our Portage Central campus to perform at our McCamley-Knight Field. is space has been a long-term vision of ours. We were working on and hoping for a new McCamley-Knight Field for a lot of years. e old McCam-ley served our kids and community for many decades. And when our community voted to build a new stadium, from the beginning we knew that marching band invitationals would be an essential part of it. Pat Flynn would have it no other way. From the onset of the design process, we talked through how the space would work for marching bands: rehearsal and warm-ups, performing and celebrating. Pat served our community for decades as our band director, creating a healthy culture of high expectations and happiness. He had already designed the new band room a few years before, creating an incredible space that would support and encourage our large bands so that they could continue to grow and succeed. He also helped to create a new practice space and new band tower, so that we had the infrastructure for on-going success. From all that he learned here, as well as from visiting stadiums all around the country, Pat had the insight and the passion to pour into this place. Indeed, his ngerprints are all around us. Now we are here -- exactly where Pat and we hoped we would be all those years ago. e years of work and commitment and learning all brought us to today, at our PC Marching Band Invitational. Our legacy and tradition of excellence continues on with our Band Directors Bryan VanToll, Deanna Russell and Allison Patrick, and we are so excited to make this Invitational come to life. We are glad and grateful that you are here, building on the importance of music and performance in all our lives. ank you -- so, so much. Band, the stadium is yours for performance! With appreciation and respect, Eric Alburtus Principal for Portage Central High School
