Field Impact ReportReconstruction of Barro Colorado SchoolPalencia, Guatemala
Changes to Project Description
It is not yet known if there will be changes in the Project. We will visit the school when the Palencia City Council has finished with the repairs.
If during the visit it is evident that they included an item contemplated in project 2118U, changes that the school still needs will be proposed so that in the end it is in excellent condition.
Project Goal Project UpdateThe principal, VerĂ³nica Alvisurez, tells us that the Municipality of Palencia has not yet finished with the repairs to the school. The Municipality offered to finish the repairs, in the first half of August.
Therefore, we continue to recommend the following:
1- Keep waiting for the Municipality of Palencia to finish the repair works of the school, in order to start the execution of project 2118U.
2- Once the municipal works are finished, we will carry out a visit with Archdiocesan Caritas Planning to reformulate project 2118U if necessary and propose it to Food for the Poor, with the aim of leaving the school in excellent condition, so that students can study better.
