Children's StoriesEliza Abraham is a six-year-old first-grade student who lives withboth parents and six siblings in a squatting area located within thecommunity of Sophia. Her parents vend for a living, buying pastriesand bread from a nearby bakery and selling them along the SheriffStreet corridor, a place bustling with people. Eliza is usually left in the care of her older siblings while their parentsare working. Life is difficult for two street vendors with sevenchildren to care for. Many days they are forced to eat the pastriesand bread they buy for resale so they don’t lose their investment.According to Eliza’s parents, they struggle to provide for their largefamily, but their faith in God pushes them on. They are thankful forthe feeding program because they do not have to worry about Elizawhile she is at school.
Priya Richards is a vibrant 10-year-old fifth-grade student.According to Priya’s classteacher, she is an excellentstudent, always attentive in classand participating without beingcalled upon. Her grades showthat she defies the odds of herliving situation as she is one oftheir top students. Priya comes from a broken homewhere her father abused hermother. This affected Priya, whoacted out in school aggressivelytowards her peers. Her third-grade teacher took her under herwing and worked with her. NowPriya is a top performer. . For the past eight months, she has been living with her mother and twosiblings at her grandparents’ home, after separating from her father’sabuse, at walking distance from the school. Priya’s mother is happy tohave her on the school feeding program because she is unemployed, depending solely on her parents, who are pensioners, for support.

Life is made a little easier for the students' parents, who do not have to worry about school lunches.
The kids are ready for their warm meal being served by theschool's staff; grateful to you for this life-giving gift."Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done."Proverbs 19:17
