As part of the chicken rearing initiative at Institut Monfort, we made a strategic decision to postpone the installation of the 3rd cycle chicks. Initially, this delay was driven by the high temperatures recorded in July. Elevated temperatures not only have the potential to decrease chicken consumption but also can adversely affect growth, resulting in higher mortality rates. Another contributing factor was the sudden resurgence of socio-political unrest in the project area, Croix des Bouquets.

Currently, we are awaiting a stabilization of the gang-related situation before proceeding with the purchase of items necessary for the preparation of the third cycle. For this upcoming cycle, we will maintain the same strategy employed in the previous two cycles. This approach involves procuring the required project items, storing them at the Laudato Si farm in Santo, and allowing the beneficiaries to collect them. This method has proven effective in minimizing risks and ensuring the safety of all parties  Project Update Project Goal
